Hard wheat Kernal, Too dry?

My first time at grain, found hard wheat kernal at bulk barn. Soaked 17 hours, simmered, brought to a boil, but only boiled for about 5 minutes. it did sit in the water for about 15. Then PC'D.
My grains felt dry to the touch and had hardened up a bit, still able to pinch them apart. Can anyone tell my photos if it looks ok.
too soon to see signs of growth.
Thanks for your time, I had my BRF cakes not turn out so well so im banking on this.

As LM said your grain looks perfect. I would know having some experience with wheat kernels myself.

I would suggest looking around for a local feed mill next time you want some wheat. I went from paying $1.09 a lb at the bulk barn to .49 cents a lb from a feel mill. I get a 55lb bag of hard wheat kernels for $27.

Spore germination can take anywhere from 7-14 days to start, sometimes longer be patient young grasshopper. Your grain does not appear to be to dry...What are you using for filtered GE?

Just polyfill holes. I guess i am being impatient. im comparing this to my first brf and they went faster I suppose.
My room is on the cold side, 65. Maybe I should try to find a spot a touch hotter. Either way I guess im worryign way to much over this.
thx guys

If at day 17-18 you have yet to see any growth I would start to consider something is wrong. Until then, kick back, do some reading, go about life and do not forget to take some you time.

I would keep them around for at least another week after you reach 15 days.

+1 Also, where did you buy your spores? Or are you using a LC?

I guess I have nothing to loose in waiting and can start more in the mean time any how.
I bought my spores from a very reputable company in Toronto, called THC

I don't know. You grains are perfect so I would be inclined to blame the spore syringe. What do you say EM? Is THC a good Canadian vendor? Also, did you let your jars cool down before inoculating (6-8 hours)?

Iv known a few people who say they are legit(Other then being a bit expensive) but I personally have not dealt with them.
Perhaps if they do not rotate there stock you may have gotten an old syringe. Did the syringe come with a packaging/made on date?

jars were cooled down over night, dry to the touch.
THC is like the biggest thing here in Toronto, but they focus 98% on Canabis, so anything is possible.
I have had zero luck with the needle so far. ive also made some BRF cakes which have not shown anything, although thats only been like 5 days so its irrelevent for now
I soaked some more grains last night and im going to try my luck with a homemade spore needle, PE. That was gifted to me.
