Wait until you graduate, you don't know what stress is. Just think, it could always be worse. And when the weekend comes you don't have to worry about anything.
-------------------- Did he dream about dragons? Did he dream about deer? Did he whisper he names of friends who were near? What songs did they play, and how far away? Why did he whisper, why did she scream? What does the sound of a screen door mean? Who talks on the hill? Who goes to the cellar, can you feel the chill? Where does the river, when will the wind? How far are the mountains? Where do they end? Why would the church? Did the service begin? Tell me who died, and tell me who cried. Help me hide in the skin of a deer, my zippered-up bag in the mouth of a stag so swiftly I go through rows of does, it flows, it flows, it flows, it flows all over the hill where the green grass grows.

Bio and chem at the same time sounds rough.
In my experience it works well to take one hard science class and then pad the rest out with GE, social sciences, etc.
I feel your pain though, I have officially been robbed of any semblance of a life by school.

Honestly, school was more stress to me than working.
I was working while I was school, I just couldn't work as much. Money was way way way tight all the time, stressed out.
Working, comparatively, is a breeze.

I agree its a lot more stressful going to school and having to worry about how you are gonna come up with the extra money to pay bills, Rather than working full time and having extra cash to spend.

college is fucking useless. Do you really think that degree is going to help you get a job once you've graduated? And more importantly, do you really think college is going to give you the skills you need to be competitive on todays job market? Fuck no! Unless you're going to become like a doctor, a lawyer, or an engineer, a college degree is worthless and you'll probably just end up working behind a cash register or as a clerk at best.
You'd be better off just not getting into all that student loan debt in the first place. Find a job with whatever skills you do have and get really good at it. Job experience is the only thing that really counts these days.

I was stressed out in college too. Once you graduate there is a wave of anxiety that is lifted off you and replaced my a major sense of accomplishment. Its worth the stress.
College is a high stress environment. Thats part of the challenge which, if overcome, will make you worth of holding that bachelors degree. Employers will know you fought hard to get that degree.
You will make it. Keep truckin.

Its funny how he claims that college is useless, and then proceeds to list multiple professions for which college is vitally essential.
Just because many people waste their time in college, and squander their opportunity to get marketable skills doesn't mean that college is necessarily useless. Its only useless if you just go to class and have a Cs get degrees mentality.

A college degree is not worthless. In my time at college I became alot smart, learned alot about time management, learned to read, and also learned alot about myself.
Its not a waste of time. And a degree will help you get a job. My friend I went to highschool with got a teaching job with is degree. He does not even have his teaching certficate either. He was able to get the job because the school is private.
Its worth it.

Yes. Of course I knew how to read when I entered college but I never actually did any intense reading. Learning to read entire text books and classical literature was great. I loved reading my history book and then being able to discuss it in class. It was real fun.

Lol @ the the college is fucking useless guy. It's funny because, inter alia, you probably surround your self with idiots that have no ambitions in life. College has been proven to make the degree holder a significant amount of money compared to a non degree holder (HS grad and so on). If you prefer to use your skills in ways that will bring you financial stability in the now and future, then go at it! More power to you. In that case, there are only a few professions that require skills that were attained in the span of your life to date that don't require the knowledge of higher education. Sorry but if you aren't intelligent enough to do certain tasks that take years to acquire via long semesters of lectures and examination, you my fellow will not attain the comfort of living without having to worry about your house being foreclosed on or evicted from that shack down that dirt road.... Ignorance is what you my friend have more than enough of. I say pick up a book and start reading.
Peace and love my friend!

What are you talking about? On weekends I have to worry about the 3 projects and 3+ assignments I have due along with the work I have to do because I have school during the week.
When you work full time, with the type of job I want, work stays at work. THAT's when you have nothing to worry about on weekends.

i find im only miserable when i have a class i dont truly enjoy.
im taking biology and chem courses at the same time right now, and i love em both. it is a kind of big work load, but i find the shit im doing interesting.
i hate history though. i recently dropped my history of science class because it was so miserable. now im as happy as a pig in shit again, since i dont have the stress of that nonsense that i have no interest in hanging over my head . unfortunately i have to get those core curriculum credits next year....
so next semester im taking "knowledge and reality" and "abnormal psychology" to get my last core curriculum credits out of the way .... i cant say 100% whether or not i will actually like them, but they sound right up my alley.

I agree. One can choose to do a college program that has a high workload and is filled with stress, or one can choose a degree program that is fairly easy and stress free. The same goes for your job after school... You can choose one that has a high workload and is filled with stress, or one that is fairly easy and stress free.
In my case, both undergrad and grad school have been much harder and more stressfull than when I worked before going to college. I anticipate after graduating getting a job that has less of a work load and less stress than I do now in school. Its not uncommon for me to work 60 hours a week, 7 days a week right now. I wont be doing that when I get a job.

I was supposed to graduate after this spring quarter, but i just found out today that i botched up my grades in the winter and now im on academic probation again.. which means i have to drop some classes in order to stay under the probation unit limit.. which means im stuck here for another 6 months and that i'l have to spent the money ive been saving over the past 6 months to travel a bit during the summer, leaving the country for the first time in 12 years on some fucking apartment just to take more classes and then look forward to taking more classes in the fall... Im going insane, only good thing about college is the free time and living off of loans and grants, but i cant move anywhere, i feel like im trapped in this reality which i cannot escape from and start actually living life cause i know if i dropped out my mom would probably burst an artery or something and i'd have that on my conscience.

I am finally graduating this spring. I'll be glad to have some good income for a bit while doing something at least semi-interesting. Working for peanuts ain't my thing.
College is only worth it if you want it to be. Drop out if you don't like it. Waste of money going if you don't want to.

Welcome to the world. People are idiotic and stupid for the most part. Don't bother looking for anything more than that.
Or just walk around campus offering free yogurt to people. You may meet the love of your life.

Just kidding kid, long time no see, glad to see you're still alive!
Peace out, Sucka.

Im not looking for anyone, i just wanna be done with school so i can travel and most likely move to either south america or asia someplace. I think thats a long overdue perspective shift. I feel like im trapped in a prison, albeit a confortable and nice one. I pretty well off but being so restricted in my actions makes me feel like im wasting my life.

Haha you guys are the best! Had no idea that there were so many college kids on the shroomery. Now that I think about it.... It makes sense college + shrooms = awesome
Anyways almost all of you have cheered me up. I love my major because I know it'll land me a job working in a forest somewhere So for now I'll play college's little game and take it up the ass so I can be like a modern David Thoreau!
Who knows maybe I'll find Chemistry and Biology interesting

Shaddy, I don't like the concept of college. Paying to learn and being tested seems wrong and unnatural to me. However, employers love degrees. And I hope to be a positive light in the world by planting trees and whatnot. Unfortunately, college is the only way for me. Not everyone has to go to college to be a great person. In fact most people don't. But alas, the world is how it is, for better or for worse
Haha yeah I wish I could find more girls like the one in my sig. Feel free to jack off to her anytime lol

I'm almost done with a master's degree. But instead of joining the work force, I'm thinking of backpacking in Africa and possibly being kidnapped by rebel forces and drafted as a full time masseuse for the child soldiers and their tired, tired trigger fingers.

Yeah, I agree. The education should be free. I'm not really for, or against college. To each their own. I love that line.
Good luck! I hope you find what you're looking for.
And, ya know..you can be a great person regardless of education level.
