The salvia carnival!
    #14201377 - 03/28/11 11:45 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

I was absolutely terrified from a salvia experience I had a while back, but with a lot of meditation and mental healing I am ready to try salvia again. I was reading a lot of trip reports to prepare myself for my next salvia experience and came across a very common reoccurring theme. Fucking clowns and dark carnivals! As I read some of the reports I began realizing how common they are. My memories of old salvia trips flooded back to me. I was in my old shwag dealers house and had picked up some 20x purple sticky salvia before I had dropped in. I asked if he wanted to smoke a bowl of the salvia. He said he may try it but the stuff kids do these days were to crazy for him most of the time. I decided to hit It out of a bong tat was there so I loaded a nice fat bowl of 20x Sally and ripped the shit out of it. For some reason when I exhaled my hit I saw my dealer but he had a clown costume on complete with one of those swirling circus tent type hats. He had his hand on a lever that he started to wiggle back and forth and with every jerk of this lever the chair I was sitting in also jerked up and down. At this point it made complete sense to me that he had actually made a salvia trip simulator that had big rubber cords attached to the chair that would jerk it up and down. I looked at the chair it said salvia 20x in carnival type font. It was like my dealer tricked me into thinking I was on salvia and had made this elaborate scheme to make me feel like I was tripping. During that same expierenced I remember walking up a pathway to a large space age looking sort of door where two jesters asked me for a ticket and I had one I gave it to them and entered this area where I was led into complete darkness than before I knew it was on a type of twisted carnival ride. There was a giant velcro wall that had just a hole for my head to fit through. It made you become part of the Velcro wall. I struggled to get out of this terrifying ride as soon as it started. The wall kept jerking up and down to. It was so violent it felt like I was getting a concussion or something. So I struggled so hard and fell out of the hole. What a mistake, I fell down into the bottom of the Velcro wall everything was black now, it was hot, sweaty and really cramped for space and air. I thought I would never leave that horrible place down deep in the recesses of the Velcro wall. I eventually fell through the bottom of the wall and back into my body in normal reality. Wow WTF just happened. That was fucking ridiculous. In pretty much all the trips I had subsequently after this event I always became part of that damn dark scary carnival and part of that Velcro wall. I learned that if I don't struggle in the wall though its pretty much just a really sweaty itchy  feeling suit kind of thing and when relaxed I can just talk to the other people that are part of the wall. I even let them know it's easier to deal with if you just stay still.  Still scary as fuck a lot of the time though.

So my thought is why are clowns and carnivals such a re occurring aspect of many peoples salvia trips? Was salvia used before the origins of clowns and did it take part in the creation of the clown characters we see today? Who else has been to the carnival? Tell me what it's like for you? What are clowns? What are they on a metaphysical/alternate dimension type of level. Are they evil/good/neutral. Do they mean to cause us any harm? Please answer my questions the best way you can. Comments are very appreciated.

The archetype of the carnival is one, I think, of delirious hilarity that almost goes a little too far, and that has a mysterious (possibly sinister, possibly not) underbelly to it.  That's the feeling I'd describe concerning some of my "carnivalesque" salvia trips.  With salvia, I feel like the "elders of a gentle race" that feel like they are just outside of my peripheral vision are putting on a show for me.  On shrooms, I feel like I am conversing with them as a friend.  So with shrooms, I get to know exactly what they are all about.  There is empathy between us.  With salvia, they are aloof, and I am an outsider being treated to a show.  I hope that analogy makes sense.

For example, during one salvia trip my whole room seemed to tilt back, and I "realized" that, perpendicular to the usual three dimensions, there was a 4th dimension.  In this 4th dimension, my room, my house, everything I knew was sort of like a doll house with one of the walls missing, where you could see right into the doll house.  I suddenly felt a huge audience of eyes on me (but didn't see them--I felt them coming from the perpendicular dimension that was sort of perpetually "behind" me to my back), and they were all laughing.  Then I heard a booming announcers voice say something like, "Alright, ladies and gentlemen, let's give our contestant a round of applause now that he's finally figured out the real reality!"  It was like I had won a game show, except the object of this game show was to discover this "real" reality, to wake up from my dream of "normal life," sort of.  It all had a very carnivalesque atmosphere to it--fun and funny, but still kind of unsettling and confusing.  I didn't feel like I understood this other dimension or the people in it.  All I got was a confused glimpse.  That's kinda how salvia always is for me, and it sounds like for a lot of people.  Fucking weird.

HAHAHAHA THE CARNIVAL YES COMPLETELY!!!! :yesnod: I had that last week, thats so funny you said you had that. My boy gave me some 5x he had left over and I dumped all that into my bubbler on top of a tiny plug nug of bud and kept torching it through the whole rip, amazing rip, totally relaxed.

My ambient music instantly turned into some evil carnival music and I could hear something fucking around with me, making fun of me or something, I wanna say a clown, but that just sounds rediculous right? I seriousely felt like I was in a sick fucked up circus haha. It was only 5x so I could actually kind of think of whats going on, in a way. Then I realized I found the person/entity/whatever mastermind behind it all who creates everyones trips! I remember saying "alright! the gigs up I've found you!" haha, but it ran away or something, just disappeared I guess. Then I slowly regained conscious and realized I was in my room the whole time. I've done sally a few times with 20x, every single time I've felt a presence of some being watching me, or being with me, but last time was the first time I ever had this weird ass circus trip:shrug:. My thoughts are so scrambled about it, I remember those parts though. Salvia is so strange. I love it:heart:

Yaa man salvia is weird. And so fucking strong. Even after I came back from some of my trips I was positive the people I saw in the salvia space were real. Im still not even sure wether it was just a trip or not. Lol what would happen if I tried to rescue people from carnival land. That awful place.

Makes me want to make the hour trip to Arkansas to get some salvia. Is there an age limit? I'm still a few months from 21...

I don't understand why there aren't tonssssssssssssssssssss of studies going on around psychadelics/dissociatives. Their the closest thing I think we have to other beings and figuring out why were here in the first place, and they happen to grow around us. Am I missing something? Or over spiritual or something?

yes..  but when it comes down to it..  all they can do is hook a bunch of sensors to your head or look at your brain in a machine or whatever..  they cant tie it to anything more than a drug..  i think shrooms are kinda like a "cosmic briefing" to prepare you for whats to come kinda..  and to give an idea of what this world really is..  but its a trick.. and a complex one nonetheless..  its obvious to me tho that certain things were in fact constructed to serve a certain purpose in nature..  the trip is very complex in some drugs..  also look at weed..  cant tell me it wasnt made to smoke..  not only does it make you high..  but naturally it tastes good to smoke and is constructed perfectly for smoking..  there was definitely a creator..  the shits not random... no fucking way..  if people werent so concerned with the scientific end of things and more the natural and spiritual end i believe this would be alot more widely accepted..

carnivals carousels and clowns are designed in a similar way
bright color with repetitive intervals
insistent or urgently beconing yet hollow, meaningless and sad.

the kind of design is also related to feature intensification, the blurred or intoxicated mouth that extends far beyond lips and eyes encircled largely, blobby noses and extreme hair.

that ludicrous intoxicated design is what you get with overlapped images. areas smearing together and enlarging, the colors getting more intense.

the clown is not just a salvia idea, any maudlin episode, emotional or drunken could erupt with a clown or more than just one. this is internal sensory as well as a common occurance with makeup and booze or drugs where people's makeup runs, eyes tear, rouge smears.

then there is the whole thing with psychedelic polyopia, reported since early mescaline literature and tracked through all the psychedelic writings: motif repetition, fractals, progressions and faceting, series of doors, series of jewels, series of lights, gears zippers, carousels, toy soldiers, carnivals and clowns.

repetition is normal with persistence of vision, fragments of consciousness fading slowly and overlapping new sensations or vision and those combinations overlapping subsequent fragments till we get the hall of mirrors effect.

carnival in some ways is the intentional recreation of the psychedelic environment from ancient days.

what we know about it is residual from the last 2 centuries, and those patterns persist in our midway rides, and carnival stalls.

I think very much like you do. Anwyays, when I say scientific research, I mean very very strange phenomena that come along with a psych/dissociative, a good example is ESP, another is out of body experiences. Say somebody can have an OBE and perfectly describe the room next to them without never having gone in it. Wouldn't that mean we have souls that can leave our body? Which in turn is pretty good reason to justify that we would still have a soul present after death, just not in our bodies.  I actually read an article about OBE's along the lines of this, I don't think that theory is that far fetched at all.

ive definitely experienced telekinesis while tripping with close friends..  where we are thinking the exact thing at the exact moment and i feel we are and say something..  just happened last monday when i was describing a trip to a friend and i said "its a trick, a complicated one.. but a trick nonetheless.."  and his jaw dropped and was like "are you fucking serious?!"  however i think these instances happen so randomly and seem so coincidental that there may be no proof that its telekinesis..  especially if its a non scientific thing..  some things are only understood by certain lucky people who notice....

That's the best way for salvia imo.

@ the thread
If you guys want research done on psychedelics, you're going to have to do it yourself. I'm sure many serious scientists do not want to risk their reputation and careers by going against the river, even if a specific psychedelic is a clearly-defined treatment for a specific condition. If you learn something, you should share it. If a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it... Just make sure to keep scientific rigor when you write, and leave out the aliens/conspiracies. Otherwise you're no longer a self-taught chemist, you're an air-head.

I ordered some salvia XXX, the highest concentrate, in January. I put a  very small amount in my pipe and ripped the shit out of it and held it in. Then I passed out I guess and when I woke up, I had this feeling that I was on this ride that they have at the local seasonal carnival here. And I could not move a muscle. Eventually I was able to move but still could not move my right leg at all. I stood in front of my window and I could feel the light cutting my body in half and I thought I was totally gonna die.
Eventually I came to my senses, but for a while it was very scary.
I was convinced my stuff was laced with some sort of RC or something. I have only tried very very small amount once since then and just find it really unpleasant.
But the carnival theme was definitely there and it is strange to see other people experiencing similar hallucinations.

It's not the highest concentration. Sounds like roman numerals, so 30x. Pure is the highest concentration.
