Its just a .22, only have about 100 rounds....So, that's why I'd be hunting squirrels and not deer or anything...unless I could pop one in the head, then I'd shoot...They're all hollow-points.

You'll run out of gas on the interstate, get hijacked by all the other stranded people, and end up being killed by the roaming crowds of zombies eating their way up the road car by car.

probably not very long. i live in a one story house with large windows easily accessible from outside. i don't own any guns. i don't have a machete, sword, or even a hatchet. and cardiovascularly, i am in absolutely terrible shape.
i haven't really got any legit outdoorsy survivalist experience, so i'd likely either starve and freeze way out in the woods, or i'd take my chances staying close enough to the remnants of civilization so that i may scavenge.
about the only thing i have going for me is the fact that i've read World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide about half a dozen times each. and i do have a backpack with a fair amount of shit i'd need to survive on the road. and a bicycle.

I would last a while, we have a garden, chickens, and i forage a lot so wild food is usually abundant. And two big dogs.
I only own two shot guns, they are rarely used so i don't have that much ammo

Why do people keep bring up the dogs. Surely the zombie virus would negatively effect them too, or they would be swarmed and turn into zombie food.
I have a crossbow so in the long run, I could manufacture new bolts. It also wont attract more zombies with a loud noise.
Although I do have several hundred rounds each for my shotgun and SKS. I should have more than I do for my .270 and hardly any at all for my .25 though. The .25 would be great on zombies. The round would probably stay in the skull and bounce around for maximum brain damage.

I'm of the opinion that zombies are strictly human, no other animals effected
I'm kind of torn on the whole eating animals thing, though. In Night of the Living Dead a zombie chows down a mouse, but in Day of the Dead there's an alligator chilling with zombies, and Dr. Frankenstein explains that Bub and other zombies just don't go for non human flesh.
I like to think they prefer warm human flesh.
In Return of the Living Dead they're all about brains, but I consider that to be more of a punk-rock-zom-com, and not canon.

i like the crossbow idea. stealthy. and effecient, so long as you stick em in the head.
