Possible Contam
    #14201559 - 03/29/11 12:30 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I've been growing mushrooms for a bit longer than 6 months. So far I've been lucky without any contaminants but I got some suspicious shrooms in my last batch.
These (PF-Tek) cakes are on their second flush, dunked and rolled. First flush was all good.

This is how they usually look:

These are the suspicious looking ones (Unusual amount of moisture on both caps and stems):

This one especially (Stringy white mycelium? Cobweb mold?)

They smell just fine and cakes look good, but I never had this happen and am not sure if I should be concerned?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to keep the slimy ones separate just in case. Any idea why this happens? Too much CO2/water?

when your caps stay wet for too long, bacteria can set in..and cause slime.

the mycelium on stem's is from lack of fresh air as well

so simply fan more will solve all your problems.
