I think it might be time to add a rule to the science forum that some substantial discussion be included in the original post, and that you can't just pamphleteer with youtube videos. Or maybe we should just start banishing these garbage posts to the "It Isn't Disproved, Therefore it Exists, You Sheep" Forum
Iluvfungi: what evidence for this stuff do you have? What arguments exist for these things and what factual support exists for them? Conclusory claims of miracle water cars' wonders are no more convincing when contained in a youtube video with fancy graphics and slick soundtracks than when stated here. It's still just a baseless claim.
Is there any scientific topic you wish to discuss to bring this thread on topic?

iluvfungi said: Well the device the aliens have is quite simple. We can build one just like it, I can even provide detailed plans on not only how to build the device, but how to extract neutrino's. I even posted it somewhere on this board so it was public to the world, if someone actually takes me seriously, instead of assuming I'm a retard when I'm a genius.
This thread is an example of why people assume you're a retard and not a genius. If you truly believe that this crap will give out free energy, then build the device described in the video. Posting Youtube videos of people making baseless claims is not evidence. All it does it make people think you're stupid. Really, that's the only thing it does.
Go build it, and if it works then you'll be a multimillionaire in no time, and you can come back to the forums to gloat about how you were right all along.
But that wont happen.

Now that's a youtube post with some content! Thanks B_H!
Also, John, I totally agree. Posts like the OP should be moderated more, IMO as well. There is no reason whatsoever this should not be moved to Conspiracy or Philosophy or something. It's not science.

Accredited scientist? No, but it doesn't take a genius or even a college degree, for that matter, to tell the difference between a legitimate scientific hypothesis and a crackpot techno-babble conspiracy theory. A good indicator of the latter is a complete lack of any form of academic peer review, or any attempt on the part of the 'theorist' to submit a paper in a recognized journal.
Take modern science for what you will, no one is forcing you to believe the method we have is the only way to enlightenment. There are many paths. Some of us choose what has worked well over the past few centuries and beyond: the scientific method. If you fail to believe in its power to uncover the truths in the world around us, and instead choose to put your faith in guys who only put their ideas on websites and youtube then so be it. That's fine. But it's not science. And it's as simple as that.

To make it easy, simply look for the words "free energy" or "hydrino" or "browns gas" and you can immediately stuff it into the crackpot techno-babble pile. You score bonus points if any of the above are combined with a magnet.

The "peers" have made it clear that they don't want anything to do with it.
However, if you are not a "peer" then what is your basis of limiting the free speech (within reason of course) of this forums?
I don't think this is a peer reviewed forum is it?
Has anyone personally conducted any experiments in these regards?
If so, please present your paper.

By Johns proposed standard, I would think your evidence to be insufficient and subject to removal :P
Picking the most plausible side is not scientific at all. It is simply a game of roulette.

What makes you think you can ever pick something that doesn't have a degree of plausibility? Picking the most plausible side is very much scientific, its how science works. Plausibility is the realm of knowledge, possibility is the realm of foolishness.

Well, I'm most generally considering the case in regards to cold fusion.
There has been both proof for and against it.
Either you do the experiment yourself, or you are just playing roulette.

There is no proof for it at all. None. How could there be proof of anything in science? To say something is proved removes all doubt, but doubt is a key component of all scientific theories. Every theory, no matter how well substantiated, is tentative. They current theories in physics are well substantiated and they do not support the claims of YouTube "scientists". Every claim of cold fusion has fallen flat on its face. Every single one. Thats not to say that its proved to be impossible, but the plausibility that a YouTube "scientist" is going to break the case on internet forums is so very low its not worth considering. Free energy is even more ridiculous and many orders of magnitude less plausible than cold fusion.

Exactly, so what is your argument?
If you close your mind to the possible then what is left?
Who here really has the grounds to say something is impossible?

The plausible. Like I said, appealing to possibilities is the realm of the foolish. Appealing to plausibilities is the realm of knowledge.

The plausible is possible, lol.
What would be left is a society that thinks it knows everything and that everything that it thinks it knows is as that it will ever know.
IMO, this is only thinking from the confines of a box.
Unevolving.
That is beside my point though. I am just saying that this forums shouldn't be closed to the possibilities. If you guys want to have a peer-reviewed section, than make another one IMO.
From a personal point of view, I like to read some of these possibilities and find it entertaining to say the least.
