Im off of Synthetic cannabis.. Ive been having withdrawls. Feel like im haveing a panic attack inside with the sick nervues feeling.. I cant take the pain... I was wondering about what AJAXX said.. "what if you smoke weed instead of a JWH? does the weed take care of the withdrawal?" would it work just to get over the syptoms?

its not so much the chemical going in as it is the receptors your antagonizing
most synthetic cannabinoids are highly antagonistic towards the cb1 receptor

dont make excuses to using
try full on sobriety for  few months(not that long)
if symptoms continue after that then deff see a doc

clarification-------
when you highly antagonize the cb1 receptor your brain
down-regulates the gaba receptors theses are responsible for
stress reduction among other things(think benzodiazepenes)sp?)

Ever since I was 14 years old I have been experimenting with a wide veriety of controlled substances.  My DOC (drug of choice) was always weed but not until opiates (heroin) came on the sceene.  For the next 6 years, it seems I was more often sick (dope sick) then not.  (all you hard core junkies will understand).  OK, after 5 years of sobriety I decided to start smoking weed again and since marihuana is easily detectable in the human body I switch to SPICE (powder, store blends and home-made blends).  So now I have been smoking Spice for 6 months straight.  (I means STRAIGHT). Before I take my morning piss I smoke, before I get in the shower I smoke, before I walk out of the house to get into my car I smoke, on the way to work (30mins) I smoke for 30mins straight, you get the point.  I don't think I have smoked more or more frequent than anyone else, I think my intake was quite normal give the amount of time I was using it.  It definitely came the time where I need to stop smoking this shit.  I started a new job, I cant concentrate, I sleep in the living room away from my wife every night so that I can smoke in between wakeups -  plus a pig stopped me leaving a store with a couple of incense in my hand and tried the whole "I'm a cop your going to jail" thing.  Come to find out the cops are bluffing when it come to spice. Anyway, last night was my first night without spice.  The only horrible thing about the sleep thing is that you CAN'T sleep and when I did manage to get 30-40 minutes, I would wake up drenched in sweat (I mean WET to the point where I would have 3 fresh shirts laying out for me to change to....  Well finally morning came. It was freezing!  (ohh I'm in south Florida and the house was actually very comfortable according to my wife). The part where I'm constantly cold with "goose bumps" all over my body, then the nasty sweating all at the same time is very similar to opiate withdrawal. Like I said, I was a heroin user( I don't want to hear you kids telling me how much of a bigger heroin addict you were/are)!

Anyway, the ride to work was different.  I didn't have my fix. Work was ALOT more productive (even though I didn't feel 100% but I was not in a daze.  Anxiety was high and all I could think about was SPICE.  Surprisingly, after almost finishing my 1st day the withdrawal symptoms are not as bad as I thought (Except for the sweaty sleep part!)  Hopefully tonight will be better.  If you are struggling kicking this shit, shoot me a pm.  I have a lot of experience in getting poison out of my body.  Too bad its never permanent!

First and foremost, welcome to the shroomery - mzam.

You revived a very old thread (it had been 17 months since the last post was made) but your input was very much on-topic.  Addditionally, i'd like to congratulate you for ridding yourself of this spiced beast.

OK, so far so good!  2 days spice free! (Also, no weed, opiates, alcohol, etc)  Last night, I was so scared of not being able to sleep and sweating all night that I took a 10mg Valium before bed.  That definitely did the trick!  I only woke up once in a pool of sweat.  This morning I was craving SPICE so bad that I bought myself one of those e-cigs so that I have something to puff on!  This shit really plays with your head!!!!  My body still is trying to regulate its temperature because I'm constantly cold and sweaty(like opiate withdrawal)but today is alot better than the first day!!!  Anxiety is still alittle high but like I said, nothing like yesterday!  I will check with everyone later on today.

ok, so its almost noon and my Anxiety between 1-10 is 3 (MAYBE IT WAS THE VALIUM LAST NIGHT.  Two things really bother me right now. 1. chills and shivers and the sweats. 2. The wheals in my head are spinning about smoking just one more

Check with you guys later...  How this helps for those that are in my position. because I was already thinking that I might have to go to detox for SPICE!  They would laugh at me because alot of people think that this shit is as save as weed.  I can already see it going around the room: "so what is your drug of choice says the councelor to the group" addict 1 - Heroin, Addict 2 - Opiates (prescription), Addict 3 - Crack, ME - INSENCE!!!!!  WTF, they really dont understand that this shit is probably worse than any oldshool drug out there....  Any way, this is really helping me through the day...

Interesting to see someone else whose experience somewhat mirrors mine. I had some of the EXACT same things happen near the end of my use of synthetics.

Waking frequently (often in a sweat), anxiety, desire to constantly re-dose, etc. Had some issues with my stomach / bowels as well.

Honestly, the best thing I can recommend for getting off synthetics comfortably, if you're able to do it, is to smoke some real marijuana at night, instead of the "spice." If you've been a HEAVY synthetic smoker, this probably won't get you stoned at first. But it will alleviate most of the symptoms you described. (At least it did in my case, with the chems I was using. I can't say if some of the newer-generation synths are different,  but I guess it would be similar.) Of course, then the trick is getting back off the cannabis at the end. Theoretically that should be easier.

Benzos can help with the withdrawal symptoms a bit as well, but with how addictive they can be, I would not make them my first choice.

Clonidine is helpful for some of it, if you can get your hands on some. But be careful with that stuff-- if your blood pressure goes too low, that can be dangerous.

Back when i was smoking, i noticed that weed wouldn't get me STONED like it used to.  because the spice was so strong and so intense (albeit shortlived).

Yeah, the cross-tolerance with that stuff is pretty nuts. After I stopped, it was weeks before even A-grade bud would get me stoned again.

But as a person is coming off, even though it doesn't get you high (and you may still crave the synthetics a bit) it allows you to not use the synths while also not suffering some of the worst side effects a very heavy user may experience.

I'm quitting because synthetic noids are ruining the marijuana high for me.

Can't get high at all. And the withdrawals are bad.

Nausea, vomiting. Can't eat. Or sleep.

The high isn't worth it, and weed is much better.

I give anyone a right to tell me they told me so, was an idiot using,

I smoked the k2 stuff for about 6 or 7 months straight back when I was on probation, i think 6 years ago now. smoked about 5g a day every day and when i stopped i was able to smoke pot again, so i just switched back.

No opiate like WD effects, but i was smoking pot and i have no idea what these new synthetic products do to you

good luck mzam, all the good vibes to you.

Smoking real pot can reduce or eliminate the worst of WD symptoms-- even in some severe cases, from what I've seen.

It just kinda sucks to go from getting so stoned you're half-way to tripping and all the way at terrified, for pennies per dose, to paying $50-60 for a few grams of weed that's going to be gone in a few days and barely gets you buzzed.

But yeah, I definitely recommend heavy users wean off the stuff with real cannabis instead of going cold turkey, if they can.

So strange, in 2011 I was on probation and smoked it like every day all summer incase i got piss tested. I never had any addiction to it though but its WAAYY fucking stronger than weed. It doesnt last as long but it deffinately changed how I was seeing nature at the time liscensed and made colors extremely vibrant.
