Ok, so I went to dunk a little 4oz. BRF cake. I was scrapping off the verm and BAM! there it was, there was a small patch of green in the middle of the verm about alf the size of a dime! But nowhere on the cake..... wtf? Should I just toss it, or make a poor mans FC with a pop bottle and see how it turns out. I was trying to take a pic but it wont show up hardly in the picture.

I'd cut off the nastiness and take the rest of the cake and throw it in the garden. Just cover the cake with cut grass or straw and water until it's muddy. Continue to dispose of your cakes in the same spot and use the area as a compost heap.

Ok, I birthed it anyway lol and put it into a pop bottle FC just for sh*ts and giggles. I did all of this outside and thats where it resides now. I came in went straight to the shower, then clothes went straight into the wash. Just incase it is trich.

Also I'd like to add by asking another question, let's say one were to have a sub in a sgfc with perlite but raised up and it had a small spot of green as OP described but after flushing 3-4 times. After noticing the mean green and throwing the sub out right away how important is it to clean out your chamber and perlite with soap and water and would that be good enough? What steps would one want to take?
Or just toss it and forget about it?

Toss the Perlite I would say, The SGFC you can probably scrub the sh*t out of with a little bleach and soapy water. And be sure to do that before going back around any BRF jars or any equipment you may be using for your cultivation. Go outside and be sure to wash your clothes. Trich is a sticky little bugger.

Ok because I heard of washing perlite in soapy water is ok? But true it is cheap and if someone needed to they could just buy more.
I just ask because everyone says if its green toss it but noone goes over any other precautionary measures that should be takin

So your saying the perlite is green also? And I would just toss it why take the chance. I have heard of others washing it yes, with Peroxide and what not.

No their perlite is not green. Nothin but a small spec of trich like you described but on a bigger substrate instead of a cake that they tossed. I was just trying to see if anyone would have good responses for precautionary clean up to prevent future contaminations

Clean out with bleach and water mixture and bake at 350 degrees on a cookie sheet. You should clean it every so often anyway to prevent the Algae from growing. Is your Perlite Miracle Grow brand perhaps?

Yea he's got miracle grow but that sounds like good advice, 350 for a couple hours would work pretty good after cleaning in bleach/soap. Good advice.
Maybe longer if its wet when you put it in. 3 would probably be good then.
