Coir water = LC? hhmmmmmmmm
    #14196910 - 03/28/11 09:31 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

so, i was prepping up some coir, and I I was getting rid of the remaining stuff in the bucket, to clean it.. then I had an idea, and I was curious if anyone else has done this..

the leftover water was just as dark as the coir, so I have to assume some nutrients came out with it..

would it be possible to strain this water, then put in jars for use as an LC?

sorry if this is old news.. lol.. just something that I was wondering..

Yeah you can. But a bag of malt sugar is so cheap and works better so why bother.

i don't know. sounds plausible to me atm.
you'll have to sterilize it, of course.
give it a shot. what have you got
to lose besides a half hour or so?

well, i dont bother will LCs period, but it would be an interesting experiment..

plus, if we havent done it, then how do you know its better than that? plus, i already have the coir water, which means its free, which is cheaper than buying anything.. lol

like I said.. im not even doing this for LC.. I dont use them.. im just wondering if anyone else has tried it.. i have time, and Im going to throw that water out anyway, so why not?

ill just be interesting to see how it goes..

er.. because I have done it?

straw water / coir water / leaf water / compost tea

They all work suitably.

a TC tag doesnt mean shit to me.. if its good advice, its good advice.. he just didnt mention that he had done it before, and I dont usually feel the need to go back through their posts for grow logs all the time.. lol.. cool.. he knows what hes doing.. alot of people do.. hahahaha..

I was just asking if it had been done.. not if it was better, not if it was possible.. just if anyone had done that..

I've got some coir tubs goin that I hydrated the sub with the water from a straw pasteurization. Gonna see if it gets bacteria or if it helps at all.
