    #14196530 - 03/28/11 07:21 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Species #1 (Sclerotia and info mushroom close by)

Sclerotia (???)

Shrooms close by (Psilocybe Montana)

Habitat: Around woods and grass, close to cow and horse manure

Gills: Gills on mushrooms found close by are light purple to dark purple or reddish brown depending on age.

Stem: Brown to reddish brown, small.

Cap: Brown to reddish brown, smooth, small.

Spore print color: Can't get one from either the shroom or sclerotia.

Bruising: Stems gets darker and cap borders get darker as well. Sclerotia cover seems to bruise purple when handled.

Sclerotia: Dark Purple almost black inside, white/cream/grey.

Location: Venezuelan Andes (approx. 1800m)

Species #2 (Panaeolus??)

Habitat: Around grass, on cow or horse manure, side of the road.

Gills: Gills are grey to black, dark grey-black.

Stem: White to light brown, long and relatively thin, slimmy when it breaks, it doesnt seem hollow, tall.

Cap: white/cream/brown depending on section, smooth, medium sized.

Spore print color: Black, took spore print in around 15 mins.

Bruising: Stems gets darker (brown) and cap borders get darker (black) as well, but it takes time to bruise.

Location: Venezuelan Andes (approx. 1800m)

1=scleroderma sp., it has nothing to do with the mushroom you found close by
2=yes, probably panaeolus papilionaceus.
