I don't think it's like that. If it was a dude we would still be concerned...
Everyone probably knows someone like her in some way, and seeing her self esteem crumble hits close to home for me.
I read her posts and I just hope she figures things out in a way that would benefit her.
blah blah blah

she also mentioned that shit liked to pick and choose what she told her therapist, and "felt them out" before telling them stuff because she was paranoid that they talked shit about her behind her back.
obviously therapy wont work for her.
Why is that obvious? You don't think that, over time, her therapy can help her get over paranoia of her therapists talking shit behind her back? Just because she has severe problems doesn't mean that there is no help for her.

True, that is pretty obvious; I don't think the way some people were treating her was the right way to go about helping her out. She seemed to appreciate my words, though.

I moved last summer and was offline for a few weeks. I posted in advance in Mush Cult and notified a few friends here. But still people were worried, there were a few threads about me.
So I don't think Ellen is getting special treatment here.

True, but not before raping her mercilessly.

This is actually a really great idea. We should get someone randomly nominated each week or month as the serial killer, or mole, or some sort of secret role with a secret task, and it is their mission to accomplish this secret goal while evading capture, but it is the general population of the shroomer who has to be out on the watch for the hidden phantom.

yay or nay guys?

this thread brings up something i've often thought on whilst perusing the shroomery: mainly, the anonymous nature of the net and the natural inclination for humans to feel some degree of attachment and sympathy for someone they've never even met.
an earthquake shakes a chain of islands thousands of miles away and we send money to help. an anti-government protest breaks out in a country most of us have never even stepped foot in yet we quietly cheer them on, hoping for the best.
the shroomery is a strange place in that it isn't AA, NA or really any kind of formal or informal support group. Some folks on here have struggled with addiction in the past, some still struggle with it in the present.
No matter how you slice it, it's difficult to sit back and read someones posts, day after day, as they potentially slide further and further down the hole of their own undoing.
More than anything, i'm hoping this thread will help someone who is obviously struggling with depression, addiction and a general sense of hopelessness in their life come to see that a few strange souls on a random site about mushrooms give somewhat of a damn about her well being.
--------------------
"We are all intoxicated. We were born into an insane asylum, a world crazy-making. We believe what we see and hear. The real myth is the myth of sanity, of rationality: it's a disease that is eating away at the earth. All the poisons flow from our denial. We deny madness, we forget our crimes, we dismember the corpse, we imprison our children. We need poison to poison the poison, to remember the sacred nature of intoxication, the green body of the young god." ~ Dale Pendell
