Honestly, "making something of your life", and "becoming someone" is a fucking joke IMO; I couldn't give any less of a rat's ass about any of that crap, I just want to live a relaxing life that includes as little effort and work as possible.

somebody posted that into the wild shit on here a while back and i lost it laughing my ass off. now, whenever i get on a "society rant" that scene flashes through my mind and i chuckle to myself.
when you live in a society as fucked up as this one, you gotta find humor in something.

I think all societies are generally fucked up to at least some of its members; that's what sucks ass about being a human IMO.
I kinda wish I could have this experience of life without having to be a social creature.

Nah, I think I'm just gonna live off of public assistance for the rest of my life.
If I find a job that I actually enjoy in the future, though, then I'll do that instead.

You can't hate society without self-loathing. You are society. Society has made us who we are. It's inescapable. The only way to get back at society is to realize that who you are is what society has made you, and realize that the your ego is "fake". Eventually the ego will die and only "you" remain. So they say.

Who said I don't at times experience a degree of self-loathing?

I don't want to "get back" at society, I just don't want to have anything to do with it (for the most part).

Well OP. If you don't like society, perhaps you should do something about it.
Do you have an idea on how to make it better?

Only flaming liberals think they can do something about it.
It is better to opt out; drop off the grid, quit paying taxes, etc than it is to try to fix something that is unfixable.

Very true, it's also a good idea to get over your moral barriers and start being more self-centered to some degree, not so much that you become egotistical, but I really do think it's a good idea to "always look out for number 1." Sure, you can and should still donate some money to charities if that's your thing, but don't be doing people many personal favors, as soon as someone gets the idea that they can screw you over they will without fail.

i've had a different experience with humanity than the one you describe. i've definitely been fucked over by people, but i've also been compassionately cared for by family, friends and strangers alike.
