Please take a look at my trays.

I have a couple of trays that I have colonizing in my incubation chamber, and the mycelium is spreading. But what I'm wondering is when can I expose them to light so that they can start fruiting? This is my first grow and I would appreciate some advice
Also the mycelium looks "fluffy" is that a problem?

I'm not too sure, but I think your trays have cobweb... It doesn't look like normal mycellium. Seems too fuzzy.
If its not cobweb, I would put them in fruiting condition cause they are ready

patience is virtue.
If you dont think its ready then leave it. I havent read about "over-colonization.

its the water evaporation (-> fae and misting) combined with light which triggers fruiting.
light actually promotes mycelium growth.
keep your colonizing jars and trays in ambient room light (indirect daylight, through a window) from the beginning.
colonization in the dark is information from last year.

Looks okay to me. It's better to have rhizomorphic mycelium, but it's nothing to get upset about. Just fruit it and see what happens!
It is pretty fluffy, but I don't think it's cobweb mold. On my monitor, it looks too white to be cobweb. I'd keep an eye on it though.

yeah i was wondering why i didn't have any rhizomorphic mycelium. im going to let some light in from now on and mist to see if i can get any.

i can see why you would think its cobweb. but i dont think its cobweb it still has that mushroomie smell to it. it did the same thing in the jars.

Don't fruit it.
It looks good. But it's not making any knots yet, and it's PE so it might not decide to make knots for another week for all you know.
Leave it colonize until you see a knot or two.
The mycelium is fine btw, don't let the texture throw you off.

since we're on the subject of PE, i'm going to hijack for just one second...sorry OP
I have 64 quart mono's of APE, been pinning for week in a half, but it seems like they're not growing...more and more pins are forming, but the ones that's been there dont seem to be getting any larger or growing at all
is this normal? since i've never messed with PE, let alone APE...
I know normal cubes i'd already be harvesting lol

i dont see any cobweb at all , just light myc , it does that , especially when a casing is applied ...
biologys ~ ape is suck ass at fruiting ... if its not a tested isolated culture dont expect much ... ive seen 4 mushies pop total in a perfecly done tub and like hundreds of aborts several times ...

Wow!! that is a beautiful flush i dont want to get my hopes up but... i'm hoping for something like that. i forgot to mention i have a outdoor monotub aswell (not picture worthy yet tho). if you dont mind me asking how long did it take to fruit?
i know it varies, i just want an estimate.

I don't recall the exact timing on that one. My house gets cold in the winter and that throws the numbers off.
Generally tho PE takes longer. On a regular cube I see knots somewhere between day 8-10. PE is more like 12-14. The time between flushes is longer too by at least 2 days. And the flush itself is longer. A regular cube will put on weight for about 5 days or so, PE 7 days or so.
How long has it been colonizing now?

PE is a slow fruiter., and first flush has a big chance of mutants. Good luck bio

Honestly, with big open tubs like that, you would smell the cobweb mold from miles away. If it smells like wonderful shroomies though, then ofc they're fine.
Beautiful tubs.
