Brown Rice and Grass Seed?
    #14192767 - 03/27/11 03:03 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I couldn't find any vermiculite or rye grass seed from my local Home Depot, so I just picked up some grass seed and put a little brown rice in a mason jar. Do you think it will work?

No.

Go get vermiculite and brown rice flour (ok to grind your own).
Follow the tek.

Don't just make shit up.

Definitely not. Follow the PF tek carefully if you want to be sucessful. Use brown rice flour, which can be found at natural food stores and some regular grocery markets, and vermiculite, which is almost certainly in the garden section of home depot

for the record, grass seed will work fine with out adding anything else to it, except water of course...

you can add a bit of BRF to it if you want to, but its not needed..

u can use peat moss if vermiculite is nowhere to be found, but be careful not to add too much water as it wont hold as much as verm.
