I bet they'll do even better if you can fan moar and give them more light. :mushroom2:

Yea skinny stems can be one of 3 things, too little light, not enough FAE (fan moar as Doc_T said), or just genetics...

I dont see any fuzzy myc growth at the base of the stem so i think it is the lack of light or genetics.
But at a second tought, genetics?!.... no, it is the light IMO.

I would also agree it is light. He fans plenty but the lights are only 4K (or close to not sure on exact i know its in the 4k range) he is sort of on a budget but when he gets extra cash im sure he will upgrade

So im thinking his skinny shroom tubs are caused by Genetics as here is another tub he just pulled off with some nice fattys in it.

Notice there isnt any holes in the tub, He fans twice a day thats it.

Yah the no holes in the tubs certainly is the cause to lack of FAE (as you previously stated). It's good though that the problem has been identified, perhaps you passed this information along to the  FOAF? I am sure he would be happy to hear all the constructive criticism that you have to offer.
Regardless the ghetto look can sometimes produce just as good results as the "pro" setups, although this one won't unless a change is made

Tell him good luck and to drill those holes!

statements like the one above (calling people unwarranted names) is the reason more new folks are going to other sites- discouragement- why kick the guy over a small correctable error? this is typical of the behavior on the shroomery, try to scare folks to death with threats of contaminates or just flat-out insult them- WHAT A SHAME!!!

They don't look that skinny to me. A lot of the pics I see of Z strain have long stems. They look fairly meaty.

these are z strain from sporeworks ( so i know they are legit ) both from the same block about 2 days apart ... look nothing like your typical z mushies either , and they were sporeless ... ive seen a lot of weird z pics , they seem to vary a lot ... then theres the "theyre just golden teachers" talk as well ... who knows ...

Yea there are a lot of people that think ":epenis:" once they have a pf tek grow done but there are also a lot of helpful members that have made my experience here at the shroomery a pleasant one. I've been a mod on a different forum (not mycology related) at one point in time so maybe I'm just used to it and I :notards:. If you do your research and only ask questions that you honestly can't find an answer to (many answers can be found simply by a google search) then you are less likely to get shit from the noobs lol. I've learned to just ignore them as it's a lot easier that way.

As for the lack of FAE you can clearly see the fuzzy feet on those guys going up pretty high on the stems which is a good indicator of not enough FAE...

Yeah, its a known fact that 98% if the shroomery are complete douchebags. It has a little to do with the fact that most of them are high school kids, the rest are just internet dbags with 12 thousand posts in the pub and no life

I've seen very different phenotypes for Z strain also. I agree that there are different genetics floating around under the same name.

When I think of Z strain I think of the one with long gnarly stems like F strain or treasure coast. (Altho treasure coast also seems to put out diff phenotypes.)

I can see the resemblence to GT except the dimples don't seem to be as pronounced and you don't see as many of the monster head mutants like u do with GT. Kinda reminds me more of PESH which was a very common strain back in the day.

Before you guys keep raging about the guy calling his FOAF a lazy fat ass, you realize that the person making the statement is the OP right? So..if the original poster is criticizing his FOAF, you know what that means?

lol. :awedance:

FOAF will modify his tubs accordingly once they are spent. Just wanted to share what was accomplished with coir/verm & lack of fanning. All in all FOAF has gotten well over a HP that he will enjoy

Also FOAF is not fat or lazy, Just hard pressed on time with his busy lifestyle.
