Good point....derrr that was retarded of me haha.

Left them another few days in the chill then upped to 15C, dropped the humidity to about 85% and increased FAE slightly. The 80/20 are fruiting, the added wood mix is much slower and the nebro is doing nothing, but looking as though it might!

Going to leave them and see how big they get before sporulating

Answer. Quite big:

The cluster was 260g (9oz) and the single 370g (13oz), 1.28kg total One more cluster to pick but overall yield for first flush is around 15%, 72% BE

Thanks, I am going to leave the nebro for a few weeks and try initiation again. Once I pick the last cluster of the first Eryngii flush I am gong to halve the light and FAE to see if I can get the thick stem/small cap shape for the next flush. Meanwhile the tray with added sawdust is not doing much.

Tray with added sawdust was actually spawned a week later so it can be excused for fruiting a week or so later! Different growth pattern with the main cluster all growing from the same stem unlike the 80/20 straw which generated more individual mushrooms. Will pick and weigh tomorrow;

nice fruits Solarity, I wonder if the flavors improved with the addition of sawdust?
Do you still have hundreds of little pins under the plastic or has it just pinned where the air holes were?

I think generally we are always talking about isolates around here. You don't see too many edible grows with multispore.
Im confused, so what do you get when you buy a vendor syringe of edibles?
I always thought it was a mixed gene pool? Has it been isolated already? I want to make a KO isolate but thought I'd have to so it from spores/agar.
It would make sense as my KO culture from UK vendor has always pinned like crazy.
How do I make a king oyster isolate go from print?

Just pinned where the holes were - except in some places where the plastic was not tight to the sub, so I cut an extra hole. Will report back on flavour!
If you buy an edible culture it should be a proven isolate. How good it is, how close to the original mushroom and how well documented it's performance on specific substrates/growth parameters tends to depend on how much you pay for it!

Did you ever nail down growth parameters for the nebrodensis? I had some success with dust blocks pinning at 65F with some fruiting at around the same temp.
