Oh yeah. We have a massive computer with 2 TBs of space.

I would say for you Ableton or Logic

Look for Acoustica Mixcraft 5 from like kickasstorrents or something.

It's like the simplicity of pro-tools and garage band with midi capabilities. Fruity loops is a brain fuck if you havent been evolving with the program, but I jumped right into FLS9 or something, and it was so overly complex I literally had nowhere to start.

I still say Reason is the best for the solo keyboardist, and if you know how to use it, it works great for composition.

This song is called Lying in Wait of Whispers. I did it a couple years ago.

I haven't written much in awhile. Been focusing more on learning to play the keyboard.

Ableton man.  Go through some tutorials, read a fuckin' book, then BAM! You'll be on your way.

Ableton is cake man :awesome:  Any program is going to take some serious learning.  Find a nice source for tutorials and just immerse yourself for a month.

youtube got me started, and then a friend of mine gave me his 6 hour DVD on ableton basics.  now I just kind of scour about for odds and ends of advanced routing and synthesis.

Fruity loops and Ableton can be used together, great audio software.

Wasn't there a fruity loops music topic somewhere? Fast paced electronic music :awedance:

Yeah I figured a lot of the appeal of FL was the drum machine.. which I already have anyways, so I dont need it much.

i have a question in reason using the Thor synth thang, one of the patchess, "percutron [run]" plays this really cool beat loop thang when u press

------->"Run"\

however, i can't figure out how to record that loop track when i try recording all it records is the single instrument key even though the loop is playing..

is there a way i can record the run loop?

hmmm, I don;t use reason, but it is a concept that is pretty generic to most DAW's.

there should be an add Audio track option.

(I have never liked reason  cubase/ableton makes it so easy to route things.)

Reason works like a hardware rack, you have to plug the audio out into the mixer.  I'm not sure that's what he's asking though?

I am not seeing anything regarding routing audio in Reason.  maybe another user can pipe in about adding an audio channel, Maybe reason can't do it lol.

I do not have the time to watch myself, but this could be pretty helpful, and may even have your answer:

Reason is just a digital hardware rack.  You turn it around and patch stuff where you want it to go.  Maybe you have the wrong thing plugged into the mixer?
