So I had my very first trip on shrooms about 3 days ago, I had an 8th of golden caps, they were given to me by a very expierienced shroom and acid user and a very good friend, so I'm pretty sure they were legit. Anyways, in short, the trip was amazing and I'm so glad it happened. I had really cool visuals. Everything looked so deep and looked like ocean water swaying. I could go on and on about it, but that's not what my question is about.
The day after, I noticed that my vision was a bit off. colors were hard to distinguish, and I noticed that objects appeared to be swaying back and fourth, both in my normal and peripheral vision. Since I jis had shrooms the day before, I didn't pay much attention to it. It went on for almost if not the entire day. It wasn't something that happened every hour , it happened every few seconds. Now, 4 days later I'm still experiencing this. Colors just aren't the same, when I look at pictures they appear to be ' snowy' and then when I look back at them they look deeper, or sometimes less deep. When I start to focus on an inatimate object, it starts swaying. It's just like the experience I had when I tripped except MUCH less powerful but still VERY noticeable. My mind is completely sober but it feels like my eyes aren't, if that makes any sense. There are a lot of other visual changes, such as words swaying. There swaying as I type this actually ha. Now I'm not complaining, this is actually really fun and it's kind of cool haha. But it's just been so constant, i barely get ANY breaks from Seeing things like this.
There are other visuals too but I really don't want to write them all unless you guys think it would be relivent. Anyways, anyone on here know anything about this? Is it possible for me to still be tripping from the shrooms a bit ? I have been sober since so it's not anything else, it's a very distict feeling and I would appreciate it if anyone has experienced this and has any insight on it. I'm sorry it's so lengthy , a thanks in advance to whoever reads it. Again, i keep having constant visual changes ever since taking shrooms. Thanks for the help

Yup, thats not really that unusual, especially if you tripped pretty hard and for your first time on shrooms. Same sort of thing has happened to me lots of times, my vision always goes back to normal eventually.

my vision is still a bit wonky after a tripped last weekend. I wouldnt worry about it.
In fact Sometimes even after I havent tripped in like 2-3 months my vision can still have some noticeable quirks... I dont care though, just go along with it, its all good dude.

Yeah I find it quite enjoyable so I'm not wishing for it to go away anytime soon. Good to know it's common, thanks.

The longer you wish it to be there the longer it will be there. Personally I would much rather have my visual field be what it should be when I'm sober, so I try not to think about any visual effects I notice after I trip. Depending on how much you dosed and (and how frequent if multiple) after a period of days, weeks, or months you will eventually notice it go away. Not too long with a single trip on 1/8 I'd imagine but have really not much experience with boomers.

Yeah that's true, it'd probably get annoying. Also, would it change the effect o my high when I smoke weed? I'm having some tonight after a little break.

I'm no expert, but it sounds to me like it may be HPPD.

For the love of god stop throwing that stupid phrase around. HPPD can fuck itself, because it's an overused and misused phrase that scares or confuses too many people. The vast majority of "HPPD" is what you perceive it to be. Ignore it and it typically will completely go away over time. Some people's brains are simply prone to minor visual distortions all the time anyway, so hallucinogenic drugs leave "imprints" and it remembers what it did before and recreates it. As far as I've seen, this effect can be reprogrammed the vast majority of the time just like any other brain function.

Not throwing it around, but it's the only concept I'm familiar with that sounds similar.
IMO, people can fuck themselves if they can't understand the concept or don't bother to learn about it and get scared/confused because it has "disorder" in the name. All it says is that sometimes hallucination-like distortion effects can persist after psychedelic experiences. The way I see it, it just takes what you said in a few sentences, and crams it into 4 letters.
Kinda like ADHD.

Obviously I recognize that, but it's just better not to use this term because it's become misconstrued and it's better to just describe the effects. Just because people don't always act rationally doesn't mean you shouldn't compensate for that when dealing with them.

Hmm, you may be prone to persisting perceptual distortions (aka permatrip, permavisuals, HPPD, etc). You haven't been smoking weed this whole time? Because usually weed will kick permatrip into high gear. Next time you smoke don't be surprised if you feel like you're tripping again.
It will probably go away if you stay sober (no psychedelics or weed) for a few months. But the more you smoke and trip, the more it will persist, and the stronger it might become.
I've had permatrip for a long time, but it isn't really as bad recently now that I think of it because I don't trip nearly as often as I used to, but it's still there. It doesn't really bother me, never has, but some people experience this combined with anxiety, which is when it becomes a problem (ie. the "D" in HPPD means "Disorder").
If it doesn't bother you now, then cool, but if you notice it getting worse with each trip, then I'd back off of the psychs for a while in order to keep it under control. You might end up having a bad/traumatic experience and then those visuals might become a trigger for anxiety related to that trauma.

Just try not to pay attention to it, the more you analyze it the more obvious it will become. My vision can do all kinds of weird things depending on how I focus my eyes, or look at/through something. Ever since I can remember the grout lines in the tiles would swell and shift around while in the bathroom. Long before I took psychedelics or smoked ganja.

These effects are completely common. The only people who seem to freak out about them are those who don't smoke weed 24/7

Oh wow, I forgot about that. You seriously just sparked a memory of sitting in elementary school and manipulating the tiles on the bathroom floor with my eyes while pooping.

My first experience with acid left me a little off for the next week. It was similar to what you described. All the experiences after that only left me feeling off until my first full night's sleep, usually the next night after the experience.

Hmm it is kinda usual,I doubt it`s HPPD, just reminescent effects. Try abtaining from weed/coffe/alcolhol,it is said to power those visual effects. I know those little `bugs` can be quite annoying. Got them for like two weeks after snorting 2c-b and 2c-c at the same time while iming k all the night. Worst crash the next day + wierd colours and distorsions which faded after two weeks. Weed would bring back them for a month after though. No problem now. I`d say it is not worth seeing a doctor yet..wait at least a weak for the effects to dissapear.
Maybe some people are just more sensible to reminescences?
