Misting SGFC

When misting SGFC is it okay to get mist on BRF Cakes. I'm haveing a real problem with RH and I am able to watch it closely, but I can't seem to get the RH up above 70%. Got 5 inches of pearlite and a constant 60 degrees in chamber. I tried another gauge & it read the same, within a few points, so I figure the gaugeges are right. The room is pretty much at 70 degrees but the SGFC is only approx. 1 foot off of the floor so I expected it be at a lower temp. But I'm not sure what to do about the RH. Right now I'm misting every 2 hours and it doesn't seem to be helping. The SGFS only holds about 4 gallons of water, so it is pretty small. My 68 Qrt has a RH reading of about 80 percent. Any ideas as to what I can do?

if its properly constructed with 5 inches of perlite dont worry bout the hygrometer..
mist, then fan, and yes mist your cakes directly..

Yeah I think your hygrometer is crap, both of them....95% of those things suck. Mist your cakes directly, but up above the FC so that it gently drifts down on the cakes.....Dont do point black shots to your cakes...

Was getting worried about the low RH so I swithced to the smaller FC as there are only 2 cakes and then to my surprise the RH dropped with a increase of pearlite and a smaller FC.

using them digital hygrometers are very innacurate,, the cigar ones are much more acccurate, ur humidity is most likly fine 60 is on the lower in in fruiting temps ive never tryed temps that low ; 'sure itd work but slower and the higher the temp the higher the humidity as well,, if u feel like u must mist the cakes use ur bottle sprayer and angle it up and mist so it falls slowly on the cakes so its not as much direct force on the cakes with the spray,,,, seems to have less aborts doing this
