Check my Agar

After searching for Agar locally. I found some (so I hope)
Does this look legit?
Also, can someone please please direct me to a solid tek, not using pitri dishes as I have none yet. I searched myself but all i get is people asking questions, not actual teks.
I want to follow the grocery store tek but i dont have potatoe flakes, can i do something like boil potatoe?

Yup! (If that is sticks, you'll want to grind it I think.)
Search on Fast Fred's Media Cookbook. I use 30g malt, 20g agar to a liter of water. Pour into pf jars, cap with a plastic lid, not quite snugged down, PC 60 mins or so. Easy-peasy. A liter makes like 40-50 jars, i usually do 250 mL at a time.

it is very simple yes.
I do not have malt extract, and in Toronto you have to order it. I do have dextrose. a pack of beer yeast and potatoes.
when i boil them, how much potatoe in how much water, and then i just add the agar and go forward with the tek?

Boil some potatoes like you would eat them (and then eat them) and use that water. Add dextrose and yeast by weight, the recipe is in that link cc2 gave^^^.
Or use 1 teaspoon dextrose and 1/8 teaspoon yeast. Any yeast will do for our purposes.
Add dry ingredients to cooled potato water, then proceed.
Dextrose alone is a poor source of nutrients. Add potatoes and yeast. And make agar, not LC.

I believe Doc_T was expressing his dislike of LC. He was just saying to add agar to the PDY and not waste your time on LC.

You can use any kind of yeast. Bread yeast is fine.
Is that the recipe from the tek?

If it's in Fast Fred's cook book, it's good.
but that makes a liter- you want 500 mL, so cut ingredients in half.

Half the amounts listed in the recipe with half the amount of liquid. Bring it to a boil, but don't let it foam up.
