To go and buy a pressure cooker or not to buy?

Sooo I got my Spores in today. Ive bought my supplies for my incubation and fruiting chambers (havent put it all together or nothing yet). I need to go get a lil glovebox though. I am just waiting for my myco rye berries bag to come in. I would like to make my own jars though however. I have never had much luck with the BRF jars when I was younger (i always had a 50% or so contam rate) but yet again I always did the PF Tek "in a boiling pot method". Id like to start using the rye berries cause Ive heard good things about it but I dont know where Id look at my local "Tractor Supply" for it? Do you think if I cant find the rye berries if I did the BRF method in a pressure cooker the contam rates would be better? Thanks for any help... I feel like a re-noob again...

Get a PC and never look back. The 70 bucks you spend on a 23 qt Presto will be the best money you can ever spend on this hobby.

WBS from Wally world for 4.87 per 20 lbs or organic rye berries from the health store, doesnt matter as long as you get your moisture content right and pc it long enough.

TSC will have pressure cookers, get the biggest you can afford. They'll have jars, rtv, probably even polyfil. And they will have rye and/or wbs. And gypsum most likely.

I wish I had a TSC nearby, or any source of bulk gypsum, surprisingly gypsum is the most expensive thing I use. Coir is cheap as hell if you think about it by the quart, so is WBS, but I'm stuck paying 4 bucks a quart for my gypsum.

Rye berries = rye grain = hard rye = winter rye. But not rye grass seed, that's a different thing. TSC probably has syringes, needles, gloves, facemasks too.

i love TSC! Go there for my dog supplies. They just put one up here a year ago my Mom (who has horses/cows/chickens = i can get all the poo i want) turned me on to it.
(they sure do got syringes and everything! its a really neat lil store, they even care the DIY vacs for my doggies... saves me hell $$$ on taking my dog to the vet for a simple yearly shot that they soooo over charge for)

Look on craigslist or any type of thift store. Hell try a pawn shop or two if your on a budget.
I got a 21qt presto PC for $20 on craigslist. The lady had 24 widemouth quart jars she threw in for free.
I've used the PC 3x already. Its best $20 bux i've spent on this hobby

A sizeable pressure cooker will set you back <100 bucks. Each BRF jar that gets contaminated costs you a couple of trips.
If you like shrooms you'll end up buying on anyway, so might as well do it now.
