It depends on the bag. Some of them can be sealed before you pressure cook others can't. I pc bags for 2 hours but 90 minutes would be good if you are just doing 1 or 2 bags.

i'm doing 2 bags, they are these:
http://www.mycosupply.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?preadd=action&key=SBFP01
3 qts wbs in each. I have a 6qt PC and an 8qt PC, either of which I can use.

I haven't ordered bags from mycosupply personally. I know the bags other sponsors sell can be sealed before pcing I assume those are the same bags. I'd suggest pcing for 2 hours just to be safe. You need to be sure to pack the pc though so the bags can't expand and pop because if there is a lot of excess room they will expand and pop they need to be tightly packed in there.

good to know about the popping.
how much water can i put in each PC in relation to the bags? I'd PC for 3 hours no problem, pack it with loosely sealed quart jars, but I am worried I will run out of water.

Not sure exactly how to answer the amount of water it depends on your pc itself. I put jar lids under the stand at the bottom of the pc to raise up the stand so more water is in the pc. You also will want to line the pc with tin foil because you don't want the bags to touch the hot metal parts of the PC cause it can melt the bags and get messy.

thats not needed, just place your jars in, then use 2 rings on each side of the bag to allow steam to pass thru like RR does in his video's..works fine.
and I try to be as helpful as i can when I can...thats why some posts I dont even reply to, if i dont know the correct answer I dont answer at all lol

3 hours is excessive. Just go 2.
I like to wrap the bags in foil as a precaution against melting. 1.5 quarts water is enuff, 2 quarts is on the safe side of things. I stuff 3 bags on the bottom and then stagger another layer of 3 bags on top of that.
I like to keep em in a safe clean place while the filter patch is drying out after sterilization. I get more bacteria in bags than jars and I think the filter patch is the culprit cuz it gets wet and can wick contams in.
If you have a few dollars to invest they sell these little clips that seal the bags. Then it's easy to open them back up for grain to grain transfers. They are handy. The mad season carries them.

new question regarding this:
can i leave it soaking for any more than 24 hours?
if i'm going to do a 6 hour drain per the tek i'm using, i'm gonna have to get up and sterilize at 4am, which is just no good for me.

There is a point where the WBS will germinate or ferment. No bueno. You don't want that. However, I frequently use 36-hour-soaked WBS for my spawn bags. Works fine.

Any tek that tells you exactly how many hours it has to drain is bs.
Rate of evaporation is highly variable and depends on temperature, ambient humidity, and air flow.
You can dry with a fan. Trick is getting it right without the experience of knowing how moist it should feel.
