How would I go about aiding this? Know of any charities? I would love to expose people to the works of Herman Hesse, Ram Dass, Buddha, etc. Preferably in a way that assures I'm not paying for printing Bibles. I'd like to be able to have a good idea of what work it is I'm helping get around. Let me know!
Also, I vaped.

here's a charity that prints buddhist texts for tibetans in need: http://www.dharmapublishing.com/collections/help-preserve-tibetan-culture
another thing you can do is buy texts (or print them off if they're shorter) and leave them at auspicious places for people to find - i was doing this with diamond sutras at bus stops lol

I love that you consider a bus stop an auspicious place

I wonder if there are any publishers that do ultra low cost editions of books for cheap/non-profit.

You could post flyers and junk.

a few months back it snowed really hard. i was on my way to the store late at night and the streets were completely empty. so i took the time to walk around the snow in the street downtown right in front of a building where all the windows are looking. my footsteps spelled a 10 meter long

Get the books or print the parts you want to spread (probably the whole books I'd say) and take it down to homeless shelters. There are people there who are in a deep need for something beyond this materialistic world and most all of them take bibles but it gets too old for some as a bible is biased because it has been egotistically tampered with.
just a suggestion
