Woodchips reciepe
    #1418360 - 03/30/03 03:39 PM (15 years, 25 days ago)

I searched something, but I wanted to ask for a direct reply. I have few rye jars fully colonized of reishi. And I would like to know on what to transfer them? I was thinking of some ovenbgs that can be grown later from. With woodchips. Thanks.

I see trees of green, psylocibe mushrooms too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

I'm wondering the same thing .Sorry if I'm stepping on your thread:-( I have some maple wood pellets and some alder smoke chips and some rice and wheat bran . I'm planning on using the rush wayne h2o2 method . Which of these things do i have to pc ? and how do I use autoclavable bags in the pressure cooker.

The simple way is to soak the chips overnight, fill the bags (I use polypropylene bags with Tyvek filter) and sterilize for 2h or more. When it cools down you inoculate the bags with grain spawn and seal them.
If you want to increase yields you can add up to 10% of supplements like bran & oat meal. But that greatly increases the chances of contamination.
The moisture level shouldn't be too high - there should be no water coming out of substrate when you squeeze it.

Look at this link, there's a section on sawdust spawn preparation:
