Found about 25 on the weekend that were worth picking. It's a far cry from earlier in the year when I could come back with a hundred mushrooms after taking a ten minute walk from my house.

Went out for another hunt today, found no actives but plenty of others. Lots of big white ones and little red ones.

You'd have to make sure they havn't been treated or didn't have some form of chemical applied to them while processing. Other than that, I'm fairly sure this is pine bark mulch:
In which I found thosands of these guys:
 and these funky subs:

So to answer your question, I would say yes, but it would depend much so on the type of plants and trees around the area, this garden bed was near a pine tree and other native aussie bushes and the mushrooms only seemed to like extremely wet conditions, because I went back after a fairly warm day and couldn't see any mushrooms

The Psilocybe season still has at least Two more months to go. Just because the climate isn't the best at the moment doesn't mean that the season's over. There's usually a peak near the start of the season then it tapers off and stays more or so steady, depending on weather conditions.
These were found in suburban Melbourne at the very first park I stopped at today. I had never visited this site before but I know the habitat when I see it, just like I know a dodgy bakery.

I'm not sure but I doubt they would start growing this season. Though if the mulch is still there next year you might see some.

My season normally picks up around now, I have found very little so far. I think this is due to the areas I hunt maybe. I don't often hit up the urban locations.

Yeah it's a sad sight ey, watching the mushrooms slowly shrink away after massive flushes, but I rekon we still have a while to go. I found about 20 in the last couple of weeks around my local country area. I have yet to get out and do some exploring but I'm restricted to studying, damn exams are right at the wrong time of year
Most pictures on here lately seem to be of bleached subs, I just found a bunch that were really creamy colour, is this due to lower moisture level and more sunlight?

July is a good month for me and like you I'm usually out in the countryside. Only this year am I stuck in the suburbs which sucks. The bush is where all the cool stuff is at, also a lot less people out there too.

I'm also thinking a trip out to the country, might be a nice way to unwind after exam week! Some fresh air, a nice bushwalk, and a bit of a hunt for our shroomy friends

Nice Subbedyamum.
Reporting my own hunt today. Not much, but I left a lot. It is a new patch I found too. Looks quite recent as there are still a lot of tan brown coloured tops and a few pins.

All Psilocybe Subaeruginosa. Quite light caps though. The gills were very light as well. When the bruising came up it was very noticeable. Some of the bluest bruising I've seen.
Season still isn't over yet guys! Keep hunting.
