What rav said. if they don't bruise blue at all don't bother with them in the future.

^^^^^ what locky said
--------------------
Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself. Think for yourself. Question authority

another 500g haul found another large patch (i'd say 400/500 came from the one patch). left tons of pins there + heaps of mushrooms were already rotting good ones are currently drying off
saw so many Leratiomyces ceres it was absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah I'm thinking the same. Went and checked out my patches, nothing but rotting pins. Shattered.

well im pretty sure the near-freezing temperatures are bad for them, but you will continue to find them through these temperatures, just in smaller numbers to the massive amounts we've had recently.

Last year I found the vast majority of my finds during early winter, this year however I suspect the season has shifted a little. Seeing as I started finding them a month earlier than I normally do, I'm guessing they are going to disappear a month earlier, which would be around now.

im thinking not. all we need is some more rain, and if the temperature stays as it is, then i dont see why we wouldnt get a month or so of a few more good fruiting events.
last year i found subs (less than 30) in mid october. mushrooms dont know how to read a calendar. if it was january, 8-10c overnight and rainy for a few days to a week then subs would be quite likely to fruit. later in the season its best to look in well shaded areas, as thats where the last survivors are more likely to be.
