Hey guys, I've had my first(FINALLY!!!) successful year finding subs, (This would be my third year in a row looking for actives) and I've found a 'few' good patches of subs. I'm not sure if its against the rules as such, but I'm just wondering if anybody could 'point' me in the right direction to where Amanita Muscaria's would be growing (: I just can't find any where I'm looking, either that or I'm not looking hard enough ): I live in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and everywhere where I look I'm always let down. The Amanita just looks so, freaking... AMAZING!, just want to gobble one down and see how it treats me. Honestly, Amanita's are the most beautiful mushrooms in my opinion. Sorry if this is against forum rules, but any help would be much appreciated, if you could please just inbox me I would be ever grateful.
Thanks guys

Go to a pine tree plantation
You will find them there for sure
But imo they are nasty shrooms. They look great though

yeah , as locky said, look under pine trees. there not that difficult to find, and they are very easy to spot.
But keep in mind you can't just eat an amanita muscaria as it is, there are steps you have to take to prepare it, because parts of it are poisonous. and it's a different trip to that of subaeruginosa. alot of people say it's more of a dream then a trip. i'm also told its highly spiritual though.

I have seen hundreds of a. muscaria over the past couple of months or so, just on the side of the road while driving. They're everywhere at the moment mate, just look harder. Under those pine trees.

Ok thanks for the information guys, and yeah I haven't read much into the preparation of Amanita's but I would definitely do my research if I stumbled across them.
Will have to crack out the maps and look for a few pine tree plantations.
WISH ME LUCK <3

I've seen literally thousands of them the past couple months while driving. Here's what I'll do... I'll trade you one of my amanita patches for one of your sub patches

Hey guys. I sort of asked this before but it was a bit confusing...
How bad is it to eat a mushroom that isn't 100% dry?
I've got quite a few that aren't 'cracker' dry but are very close to it. I can't make them cracker dry as putting them in the oven isn't an option in this house.
So if I kept these ones, how long would it be before they weren't edible? Why can't I eat a mushroom that is old but not cracker dry?

Mushrooms don't need to be at all dry before you eat them if you don't want them to be. They do need to be 100% dry before you store them for any period of time or they rot, and eating rotten mushrooms is the same as eating any other rotten food.

Hm ok. Well I guess that means that I can't store mine away if I can't get them 100% dry then?
Also, what are the best methods of preserving them. I can't really keep them in the freezer... I heard some people keep them in glass jars, and some people keep them in honey too...

Thanks guys
Just did an edible Mushroom tour in Daylesford a couple weeks ago.. The Pine plantations are full Amanita Muscaria, and glow in the dark oyster mushroom lookalikes, but also edible stuff like Pine Mushrooms and Slippery Jacks..
heres a huge Amanita we brought home, looking a bit worse for wear after drying out for a few days..

Cheers for that confirmation Dosile, I just stored my first ever mushrooms, "snap" dry, in a rubber sealed glass jar in a dark cool place with silica gel packs inside . Can't wait !

Just wondering what you think is the best dose size with fresh? I know each mushroom can vary.
I'm wanting to share the experience with two other people. What do you think the best way forward. Mix it up into a tea and share it out?
The two other have never tried, I have done a couple of times as well as lsd, one of the others has done lsd before. Do you think this will have enough kick?
20 grams fresh is about 2 grams dried, which is usually around 1 full dose or 2 beginner doses..
but last time i made tea with fresh, it was a lot stronger than i expected so who knows!
Ah.. to share or not to share.. that is the question..

by silica gel packets do you mean the small sachets you find in shoe boxes etc or ones you would buy from a crafts store?
