Tried mushrooms for the first time last week, was always skeptical about them but I can honestly say that those 5 hours or so it lasted for.... definitely the happiest 5 hours I've ever felt in a LONG LONG Time.
SO now... the researching has started, I've found this forum which seems to contain a great number of helpful, friendly people.
Considering going on my first 'hunt' tomorrow. No clue where I'll go but I guess I'll drive out to a park or something around my area (Western Suburbs of Melbourne) go for a walk and explore, see what I can find.
Nothing wrong with the west, a myriad of talk about the east on here but mos def patches in the west. In every day places, in parks, lone subs here and there, patches of 100 you name it. Go get 'em tiger! ps just leave some for me

Wikipedia list Liquorice as an MOAI. IF my reading is correct MOAIs intensify a trip not inhibit it!?! Maybe liquorice root is different to liquorice? Maybe wikipedia is full of shirt? Maybe the chinese medicine dude is full of shirt?
Anyone actually know what they're talking about here?
would be good to know how to cut trips short, if things were dyer

if you want to cut a trip short eat some xanax or sleeping pills. that works.

Works because you go to sleep or works because you become lucid?

well xanax will dampen a trip and hopefully bring you out of a negative headspace. sleeping pills will put you to sleep and thus end the trip also.
but it's not good to start chasing drugs with more drugs etc etc

You are right. Monoamine oxidase (MAO) is the enzyme that deaminates (breaks down) psilocin. When you inhibit this enzyme (with an MAO Inhibitor) you effectively have more available psilocin... making a trip more intense/ last longer.
Apparently liquorice has a number of compounds that act as MAOIs, so that would suggest it has the opposite effect on a mushroom trip... intensifying it rather than stopping it.

Squidfudge said: hey guys. been doing a bit of reading first, but decided to post. Very new to hunting but went on a bit of a hunt the other day. these were my find. they were found in woodchips in a local park/reserve in the SE suburbs of Melbourne. Just wanted to know if I've found what im looking for!

you have a few different species there. the ones with the orangey gills/stems and orange spore prints are not subs. get rid of them, and then take spore prints of the others, you're looking for dark brown / blue-ish spore prints, and blue bruising on the mushrooms themselves.
wanted to go on a hunt today but none of my friends could be fucked (big weekend after pharmacy - to anyone else who went, how was your night? wragg & logg: one + anth (hellraiser) killed it. seeing my dad's gf there was bad though lulz) so hopefully next weekend looking at these pictures makes me hungry.

Thats always a good problem to have!
Don't worry about the ones going to waste, because they will just be reabsorbed into making a more fertile patch for your mushrooms to grow. Also, they have had a good chance of spreading their spores, which means another patch may pop up somewhere close (or far), and another lucky shroomer might find them and share the love

do not kill drugs with more drugs, in amsterdam all the smart shop owners told us to get rid of a high with yogurt and other dairy products. chocolate intensifies, yogurt kills

That would probably work. Never underestimate the power of the placebo.

I'm no expert but that sounds like one of those urban legends Like drinking orange juice to come down.

I would always be open to help you get maximum value from a patch, it hurts me knowing they are not going to enjoy being eaten by me. I have not really had much luck, only finding very small patches, or arriving to late

Without trying to sound like a mega narc, guilting someone into sympathising and letting you in on a patch is a pretty cheeky way to go about mushroom hunting, dude.
With that aside, that's a rad find Neutro, without a doubt, one of the biggest patches i've seen!
My last couple of finds have been growing in enormous clusters as well... there seems to be a lot of that happening this year. I suppose only because it's been posted here that it's become apparant. But, still, it's interesting to see how one patch varies from another.
Cool finds.
