guys quick question,
my shrooms wont dry for days and days. they have been in my room for 5 days and they are still not cracker dry. ive had to resort to chopping them up once they are fairly dry then drying them out till dry as dry can be, which works really well.
would this diminish the potency by any chance?

you need to use a dessication chamber or an oven to finish them off
exposing them to excess heat, light or air decreases their potency.

Do ya reckon that leaving mushrooms on a paper towel on a ducted heating heater vent all day is a good method? I figure they're not TOO hot, and the paper towel acts as a barrier.
I did this for some mushrooms I collected recently, and they dried perfectly, but I'm not sure if it was too hot or not... and I want to preserve my collection properly!

i think its best to spread them out evenly so that none are touching any others and have room for air to circulate around them, then get some sort of fan or heater blowing air on to them, this should be enough to get them almost fully dried, and then they can be finished in an oven or a dessication chamber.
food dehydrators are another option also.

leave it on the lowest setting with the door open/slightly ajar untill they become ' cracker dry ' . they should be completely dry and should snap when pressure is put on them. you should be able to crumble them in your hands.

Found a couple of patches the other day in a community reserve, one of which had around a hundred subs or more. Just as I left, I spotted a guy in a ride-on mower.
Went back to check on 'em today to find that all the sub patches had been destroyed... lawn mower tracks everywhere =(
Suspiciously, a nearby patch of strophs were left untouched.
Any chance of these patches coming back?

Hello everyone, I think I have two different type of Psilocybe here. One of them has dark gills ,skinny short stem and the other has white to light tan gills with tall thick stems. I have found them close to each other but not in the same patch. The tall ones were growing around a stump in some tall grass covered wood chipped area.
The other just out of wood chips like usual. Im very confused why they have such different color of gills. I thought I could really only find subs around here. I also included a pic of some of the dry ones Ive collected over the past few weeks,Ive made honey with 72 grms of the rest of it.I plan on using about 75 percent of them to make honey for storage. Last night I saw a black panther woman. She was very tall and covered with black short fur and tall slender body with the head of a panther. I looked it up and it was the same thing that the Egyptians call bast. I also saw her standing next to a pool of water and I knew that that pool was life or this realm that we live in.I saw people lost down in the deep end and I felt like it was my job in life to help pull them up and show them the light so they wont forget where they come from and to not loose their connection to their higher self. Any ways thanks for reading ,and any thoughts on the pics?

the really black ones look like they're rotten, the dark brownish ones that still look fresh look like those tastey treats i've been finding. it's strange your finding them both joined in the same patch. at my patch they are seperated, one area has the typical subaeruginosa with the caramel/light brownish cap, and another area nearby has all of the verrrry dark brown cap'd psilocybes.
maybe they are just subaeruginosa after all, i mean you have both in the same habitat growing side by side, who knows.
Try a trip on the caramel ones and then the dark brown ones, i think the difference in potency is pretty clear. and the dark browns go blue soooo much quicker and soo much more proficiently. i've noticed the dark brown ones seem to have a different texture and seem to have a thicker stem, and seem to grow taller and stockier, rather then most subs i see that grow kind of short/fat and stumpy.
nice finds!

Yeah i have consumed all the more caramel ones, didn't have a very great trip, don't think it help that a certain person i was tripping with said i looked like the devil and was calling me a junky and just generally putting me down over the night. He is most definitely off the list for tripping again.
Will get some proper photos of my patch this week. Just as i left the patch i saw another person standing at the spot we had just picked, he was about 5 minutes late from getting all fully mature specimens
Photo below is just a little spot i found a couple of hundred meters away from the mega patch.

go over those 4 orangey gill'd mushrooms in the first photo. the first is just above the centre, and the other 3 are on the left. just double check they are subs and blueing.

in regards to tolerance,
on friday night i had 2grams dry. had an intense trip.
i know there is a short term tolerance build up so last night i doubled and had 4 or there abouts (i eyed it out)
i felt NOTHING!
could it be possible my batch lost ALL of its potency? I choppe them up with scissors and then stored them in a plastic sandwich zip lock bag away from heat and light.
