awesome. there are literally hundreds of tiny pins poking up which i left. hope they dont start construction because of the rain, might be able to go saturday morning when they are abit bigger.
there were about 3 different types of non actives. real dark orange ones with white/orange stems. went to the same place last few days to try find some subs. 3rd day lucky
went through the bag one by one and threw away the ones that had no blue bruising.
getting spore prints for some now. what color am i looking for?

This weather is going to do wonders for our subs fellas. Went to the pub last night with a mate and we decided we'd rathe trip so we went to a local park and picked us some, ended up walking from the Essendon area all the way to royal park then back at least 21km. Was an epic journey.

Went out for a hunt the morning after the rains started. Got drenched but it was so wroth it. Ended up with a decent find of my usual 'alpine' pineforrest subs.

^ I found a similar looking mushroom to the one I found last time I went out for a hunt. It was in the same area/conditions as the other one I found. Hopefully it's not too late to spore print it by the time I get home.

mod edit:
Please read the hunting forum rules.
5. Do not make threads or posts discussing or reporting the weather. This includes complaining about the weather, asking if the current weather is "good for shrooms", or how long to wait after rain fall to go hunting. As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 1-10 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, and the time of year is correct then it is very likely that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.

The short answer is no. You would have to look in the mountains to find Libs. They are only known to grow in the alpine regions of Vic.

Just came back from a little night hunt only to find my favorite patch has been excavated of its woodchips.
It's only a small patch, but some of the best, most chunkiest fruits were yet to come!
Stranger, you didn't even have the decency to replace the woodchips. Shame on you.

So I've been doing regular scouts around a few patches I found last year with pretty poor results considering what's being posted here.
But I don't mind. I'll get more than enough this season and going out hunting is half the fun. I don't mind a walk in the bush for for an afternoon for 4-6 subs.
Photos taken on my phone. Camera's out of action.
Last week I visited the very first patch I found. It didn't fruit much last season. In fact those very first ones were the only ones I got all season. There were also heaps of inactives. If anyone knows if any of these are edible I'd love to make a wicked stroganoff out of em.
Found ancestors of my first patch. Always a proud moment!
Then just went out to ol' trusty from last season which looked very dry. A nice Gallerina (?) Patch.
There was a huge spider. I nearly got caught in his web before finding a huge area raided that had a lot of exposed mycel (tsk tsk tsk) and a few survivors which I planted back in under the steely gaze of that spidey.
Also here's the second batch of my home growns. as requested. They're pretty small but I'm sure Optimus will guide them to maturity.
I found this one today amongst a few others. Seemed to be 2 subs joined at the head. Crazy!

The rain gods are smiling upon us this week. Happy hunting / tripping this weekend.

Hey guys, first time hunter here. I had shrooms for the first time in Byron Bay over Summer and loved them so much I felt I just had to go hunting once the season came!
Anhoo went out for the first time today and picked these guys out from under a pine tree in the pouring rain.
The stems certainly appear to be bruising blue and some have even stained the paper slightly with a blue liquid so i think there active.
spore prints appear to be brown sort of purply.. i think.
so I though as a first timer it would probably be best to try and get an ID from someone who knows there stuff. Any help would be great. Cheers

Sorry about the photo qualities, not great i know

Psilocybe subaeruginosa good first hunt and way to get a spore print, you have better ID technique than half of shroomery already!

Will be back.
Thanks again!!
