Does it matter? If anyone ask I either say I am studying mycology at uni (bald lie) or that I lost valuable jewellery and am looking for it. Simple.
Ps. If you don't get weird looks when you leave the house normally, you're doing something wrong.

Take a camera with you and people will stop looking and just assume you are a photographer.. I had a group of people looking at me the other day and I just started taking a few random photos of trees and such...
Odds are the people looking at you haven't even considered that you could be looking for shrooms..

Hi guys.
I've been lurking here for a while now doing some research and just observing. I went hunting for the first time today and came across a very nice patch of mushrooms in a park in North East Melbourne. I am fairly certain they are subs (hence the reason for picking so many) but since I'm still a noob I thought it would be wise to check up with more experienced people first.

 The haul
I found these guys in a mulch garden underneath gum trees and scrub next to a car park. They all bruised blue on the stem but some were harder to tell than others. Is it normal for the bruising to be really subtle?
Also, some had blackened caps. Is this a sign that they are rotting? What is the best way to tell if they are rotting? I was also wondering if its common for the subs to grow in clusters from the same root system? I never thought it was but many of these were in clusters. Not all were though.
Any information including tips for posting and photos is greatly appreciated.

They are sub's!
Make SURE they all bruise blue before you eat them or you might just eat a poisonous look a like... Some sub's take ages to bruise, Over night it should show on those stubborn ones
Nice finds!

A few of those look a bit strange, a bit larger than usual, but i guess if they all bruise, then it should be P.subs. Maybe spore print the ones with the brown grills?

Yeah I thought a few looked a lot larger than what I have seen other people picking. I'm doing some spore prints for them so we shall see. There are definitely subs here but I agree there may be some sus ones that need weeding out. I'll come back with the spore print results soon.

Yeah that first picture looks very suspicious, those grills are weird. But maybe it is just an old sub. Either way, don't consume any until a Trusted Id'er confirms. There are Subs in that pile for sure, but ye.

Just make a Id request in the proper thread.
In the mean time, I think they are 100% and you dont need someone to make a further id. They are sub's. All you have to do is bruise every single one and the ones that don't bruise, toss away.
If you are still worried, take spore prints. Then you will be 100%_
Oh and enjoy them juicy looking subs

Here's some sub photos from my past few days of adventure.

Remember that tiny Gym I found at the start of the season?!?!... well, I think I've found another one of the same species. It doesn't seem like they grow in numbers as this was the only one I found (- in woodchips). You can see blue-green bruising on the stem-base and a tiny bit on the stem and cap. Here are some pics:
