Nice pics Mayo:) . It's good to see the range of shapes these guys take on at different ages/environments.
I visited the patch I stumbled upon last week. This week's shrooms have a healthier brown colour (less aged I guess) and are exhibiting blue hues on the stem much sooner than last weeks. I had a bad trip/reaction from the shrooms I ate last week (most likely my 'fault' rather than the shrooms, but), I'm hoping the previous shrooms were early season, below-spec, sub-standards and that my body will accept this weeks produce with less trouble.
Lots of pins over a wide area Can't imagine what the patch will be like in another month or two.

i have some nice photos but my damn camera isn't working with my new computer, and the install disk for the software isnt seeming to work either. Trying to find some free software i can use to download the photos from my camera. bah!
lame.........
cant seem to get the camera working, its not recognising it when connected. sorry folks but doesn't look like i'll be posting any pics untill i get this sorted!

in the same boat sorta.
my Nikon AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm F3.5G ED VR lens i just bought isnt working with my camera which is stupid... really stupid. now the only lens i got is a wide angle and the standard 18-55mm after selling two others for the Nikkor... arrrrrr!

im so jealous of you melb people, i went out for a good two hour walk in a pine forest near the otways two days ago and only found three under developed subs they looked pretty dead. Lots of big orange spotty shrooms around forgot the name of them.

hey guys,
went picking for the first time today, if anyone could confirm id it would be appreciated.
all are bruising blue but slightly concerned that hoods seem more orange than i am used to.
habitat: warrandyte area, moist tan bark and soil.
gills: 1mm apart and fluffy (i obvs have no idea how to describe gills)
hoods: varied size, orangy brown
stem: 5mm thick
bruise: blue
smell: like mushrooms (der)

they're the right ones.
don't pick the really small ones whos caps havent opened up yet, and dont pull them out of the ground, snap them off at the base and dont disturb the white stuff at the bottom.

Mayo you found some sexy subs mate. That's it, im gonna do hunting tomorrow in my usual bush patches, last year I got tonnes from there, let's see what this year brings
