They're growing now in your area. Those pictures above were taken on Sunday afternoon at about 4.30pm in the SE suburbs and they're still there on the side of the path where I left them growing.

DosileFlynn said: haha you funny bugger. yeah i was shocked when i heard about that aspartame shit dude. i can't believe that organisations such as the FDA and it's australian counterparts, are so short sighted and gullible as to be fooled by the aspartame companies fake and fraudulent submissions. but whats worse is that - later on when the FDA became aware that aspartame was a dangerous product, and that they had been provided with fraudulent documents to grant the application, THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IT???!!!??! and just let the company go on putting neurotoxic chemicals into their products.
i mean it just makes you think, if shit like that happens with aspartame and artificial sweetners, what other kinds of crap are they putting in our food?? fluoride in water...preservative chemicals in canned goods, treatments to meats, artificial milk.
i really don't like how america's pharmacutical and medical industries are run. there have been some extremely grave instnaces of corruption and conspiracy going right to the top of both industries. they seem to have a focus on securing profits and commerce, not benefits and cures.
The thing is though, a lot of that information was found out to be an internet hoax.

Thats actually pretty interesting Jufin, i wasn't aware that it was partially a hoax. most of what i learned on the matter was from one of those 'google video' videos. but looking back on it now, the movie did seem to be fairly tin-foil laden.

Probably an Agrocybe sp.
For identification purposes we need a shot of the mushroom from above and one of the gills at the very least.

What's new guys? Went out for a hunt with my sibling on the weekend to my usual 'high alps' patch but only came up with a handful, pretty sure it's getting too cold for them up there because there is usually millions of fungus there, all of different species.
Just confirming our find, all subs yeah?

check out the gill pattern on this fella!

Also I saw this while hunting, looked really nice but wishing I had a better camera..

careful with those, check very carefully for blueing and get the TI's to confirm those. in my experience 'sub look a likes' that grow directly from decaying or fallen trees are galerina's or poisonous varieties. the stems look a bit brown also. so just be careful with those ones and ensure they are subs.

Should have added that the ones in the last pic aren't subs, but I think he knew that.

dosile has a good point those stems are quite brown for subs. although not out of the ordainary its best to spore print everything if you are even one bit in doubt. 1. so you dont kill yourself and 2. so if you trip you have peace of mind that you didnt pick a baddie

stopped by my patch today... only 1 very mature fella left to pick (as well as quite a few old rotten soldiers)
I picked some of the ones too far gone to eat but still not totally rotten... i have them with a tiny bit of water in a plastic container in front of the heater to try n bring some spores out.... then i was just gonna chop them up n throw them in to my garden...... anyone think this is a good idea? (i honestly dont know, just thought it was worth a shot)

Unless they literally fall into pieces they are still good to eat. I've heard that you can still even eat black ones, as long as there is no sign of furry mould then they should be ok. Though this is my first season and I haven't personally eaten any black ones. So I'm not 100% on this.
Also, pouring spore water on woodchips in your garden might work. There are many factors to consider. It is highly unlikely you will develop any mushrooms this year but I expect you already knew that.

put them in a blender with water and pour the mushroom smoothie onto the woodchips you want to colonize
