I've heard before that button grass is a pretty good indicator. Although I've never found any in grass. Always the chip bed. But that's cos I'm a ghetto hunter and have only ever successfully found them in urban parks.

Hey guys. I'm new to Melbourne and am starting to get a feel for the local habitats that are around. Anyway, on my way home today I came across what I think are subs but I've never found one I could positively ID so it's best to be sure.
Growing in woodchips, there were some strophs near by. They bruise blue like the cubensis' I picked in NSW. The caps are slighly rubbery, not slimy. This is in inner eastern Melbourne.
I'm still waiting for a spore print from them before I can be 100% but are these subs?

Put all the blue bruising ones aside, toss the rest. As they are bad. I'm sure MOST, if not all, are sub's. Well done
People Please keep I'd request to the mushroom hunting and ID forum.

You guys have just convinced me to leave the library, go back to my hostel, grab my macro and go for a walk through some parks. Magic is in the air!

Wondeful news. I'm going to brew a half dozen into a tea for the night. There were hundreds of pinheads from what I saw, I tried to get the mature ones. I'll be going back on Monday for the rest of them

Hey guys, i was wondering how many people these P.subs could dose? Im having 2 people over tonight, 1 of them is completely new to psychedelics. All up there are 13 mushrooms here, they are semi dry, weighing in at about 6.3grams, but that number would go down when they are cracker dry. What what trip level do you think eating 4 mushrooms each would give?

4 shrooms should give a level 1-2 if they are fresh. You probably won't get any visuals but its still worth doing.

i'd say it would be better off split two ways. one of the big ones each, and then split the rest.

Went for a hunt today, spent all day in the wrong areas, seemed to be the later in the day in different habitat i found just one sub
pretty disappointing considering i was out all day, but i look at it like, i go to the patches to enjoy the scenery and go for a walk... finding subs is a bonus

first pine forest in mulch beds (non woodchip), then eucalyptus like rotting logs, around a eucalyptus tree i found the one single one.
Goin for another scout tomorrow as it started to get dark by the time i got there. My spots up in Adelaide was a goldfield of subs, came back with easily thousands from there.
Still trying to scout out the area im down sydenham/taylors lakes way and usually travel out to a well known mountain and a pine forest around the corner from it

That would be just enough for 1 person in my opinion. I usually eat at least that amount by myself, sometimes double or triple if i feel like having a bigger night

Awesome, looks like you found one of my favourite mushrooms Mycena clarkeana!
I basically look in places that retain moisture/humidity. Southern slopes of hills, low lying areas, closed canopy, near waterways (creeks, ponds, etc). This post by msanchez240 probably gives a better description.
Mmm, a pretty neat bunch, worthy of a pic I thought. Thanks, good tips and helpful linked post.
Found this one in Tas in early February, cool transformation and pretty big!
