My patch is doing reasonably well for the limited rain we've had. Hoping that the next week or so will really make in flourish.

BE
VERY
CAREFUL
know exactly WHAT your doing BEFORE you even consider proceeding with something like that. you need to be able to run through it all in your head and be confident you know exactly what is required for it to be a success.
i will be very angry and displeased if you post a panic thread an hour after doing this saying " SHIT WHAT DO I DO NOW HELP ".

Have fun with that. Look forward to seeing the photos. You hoping to get a fruiting this season from this?

yeah im hoping fingers crossed. my plan is to dig a deep section of it out about 20cm by 20cm where a cluster is. then put it into my front garden without disturbing it too much. cover it with some of my wood chips and water with some very potent spore water that i will have made up. I dont think i will get fruit this season but you never know.
Why would i panic if it doesnt work out?

nah i meant as in, you dig up the patch and get home and realise you don't know what your doing and then make a 'panic, help, what do i do' thread.
you know if you have spore water you don't even need to be going around digging up patches. just do everything you've said before and just dump spore water onto woodchips in your yard. next year will have the same results, and you dont risk ruining any other patches in the process.

Or even better, do both in different locations and compare results.
Going to be pissed if I see a 20x30 hole in one of my patches.

Haha yeah, it's not the best idea digging up a patch. The reason they're growing where they are is because they like the environment they're in. you can't test every environmental variable in either location so it's pretty risky. As Dosile said just dumping spore water on your new area would probably still result in fruiting next season.
Went out for a walk around the block today and discovered another small patch there was one mature chunky sub left around a bunch of dead ones, hoping they'll fruit again after some good weather.
From patch

Hey guys, I'm just wondering about potency comparison between Psilocybe Subaeruginosa and Psilocybe Cubensis.
Is one more potent than the other? Or are they roughly the same. If I took 1gram dried of both, would there be that much of a difference.
I know we don't have much experience with this as they don't grow here, but has there been some sort of study?
The main reason I want to know is because most trips (internationally) will be on Cubes, so if one person says 'I tripped on 3g dried' what it would compare to in Subs.
Thanks a lot. Was a long question.

wow that is a giant sub! nice find.
Highroad, the Subaeruginosa is a type of psilocybin mushrooms known as "woodlovers" i.e. they grow from woodchips etc. they are alot more potent then the typical Cubensis mushroom. Cubensis mushrooms are by far the most common mushrooms around the world though.
I'm not sure on exactly how much more potent they are, but if you have a play around with the shroomery dosage calculator, with the same ammounts of both cubensis and subaeruginosa, you will see it takes less subaeruginosa mushrooms to get where you need to go.

I've had both Cubensis and Subaeruginosa: I would put the ratio at Cubes 2.5-3g = Subs 1-1.5g, depending on variables in potency within the same (sub)species in different environments.
I also find a Cubensis trip to be typically lighter (more laughter, higher mood) than Subaeruginosa which I find to be deeper, heavier trip - but who knows, maybe that's just me.

subs are more potent than cubes say you had 5grams dried cubensis youd only need 3grams dried subs to acheive the same effects as the cubes
