Well i'm gonna try doing an outdoor patch in a few weeks when it warms up enough. who else is gonna try?
Do outdoor patches really produce as many mushrooms as is said?

My friend was gonna start one--its been 60-65 everyday for past 2 weeks...but last nite it snowed 2 feet here...dammit now he has to wait a few more weeks lol

just buried colonized horse poo with fresh horse poo in my herb garden. i included a fence for fucking armadillos and plan on getting some slug traps next week. fuck SLUGZ they eat my outdoor shrooms and cant even enjoy them for the trip bc they have no brain only nerve clusters and ganglia. b4574rd5

I could back that up. I definatly agree that outdoor batches, made with poo at least, are more potent than indoor. The most potent I had were grown in the mid summer, when temps were very high. Also, i seemed to notice more potency in the later flushes. As for yields, mine was pretty decent, but i only had a very, very small patch, averaging about 65 or so fresh grams per flush. It flushed almost bi-weekly, for more than 2 months. Hope this helps.

Ive got 2 quick questions. Am I correct when I say that you dont need to pasteurize the straw or poo for your outdoor patches? Also, I know that all the variaties do well outdoors, but has anybody noticed any specific strains that excelled outdoors? Thanks, I will be posting a grow log as well. I've been reading and learning over the last year, and am now ready to apply said knowledge. Wish me good luck.

What about digging a shallow hole and putting some moistened birdseed in it and then covering with some topsoil? Then covering with some tomatoe fencing to keep the birds out. Should work, huh?

Ok, first, i've never pastuerized, or sterilized anything that i've used outside. The only thing that i was sterile about, was of course, making the spawn. About which strain does good, i dont know, i've only tried one. Anyway, i wish you luck with whichever strain you choose.

OK, I assume I might (will) get abused, but I have to try. A n00b friend told me he plans on trying a outdoor bed in the "ol b4ck y4rd" this coming sprind in NY. His dad has a hook up at the local race track so horse dung is "a plenty". I would love to forward him some details on "how to" from scratch. Can some veterans hook a nooby up? t4nx

be sure to safeguard your patch against crickets, slugs, and other critters. they will eat your hard work and time right up and leave you with nothing. they are greedy bastards.
i personally think a trained guard monkey is the best defense, but i don't know where to find one. i've heard that salt, certain peppers, diatomaceous earth, and screens are the best defense....second to the monkey, of course.
