Baptism
    #14175997 - 03/24/11 02:01 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

The Catholic Church is so fuckin smart they have people believe that if they don't dunk their kids head in water they won't ever go to heaven.

My first girlfriend from when I was like 14 had a baby and we're good friends.  She's getting her daughter baptised and I asked how much it costs, she said "It's free duh lol"  Then she asked her dad and he says you need to make a fuckin donation!?  I was baptised because my mom believes in the sky wizard too so it just pisses me off she dropped at least $50 for that crap

I'm not getting my kids baptised, I'd rather put that toward a college fund or who knows, swimming lessons maybe.  I hate seeing my friends brainwashed by this shit...

The catholic church is the biggest and best ponzi scheme ever .
I want to get in on some of that action.

folks, we need an intervention here. PreparationH has been brainwashed to believe you HAVE to swim to be a successful person.

see how that works?

I remember that when I was a kid, my dad was telling me about how I wasn't baptized, and that I would have to get it done as an adult. When I asked why, he seriously responded "because if you don't get baptized, you'll go to Hell."

I seriously LOLed

I don't understand how anyone can believe if you live a good life you can still go to hell because some dude didn't put water on you. If there's a god and he denies access to heaven based on things of that nature I don't want to go to heaven. Seems so egotistical to think that not participating in mortal rituals will prevent access to heaven.

"We are all intoxicated. We were born into an insane asylum, a world crazy-making. We believe what we see and hear. The real myth is the myth of sanity, of rationality: it's a disease that is eating away at the earth. All the poisons flow from our denial. We deny madness, we forget our crimes, we dismember the corpse, we imprison our children. We need poison to poison the poison, to remember the sacred nature of intoxication, the green body of the young god." ~ Dale Pendell

Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.  This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him." Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God."  Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"  Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."

John 3:1-5

The Bible's groovy stuff if you don't read it in the context of organized religion. :stoned:

I know man! Its pretty epic. This is my favorite line:

(2 Kings 2:23-25)
23 Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” 24 When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number. 25 And he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.

God totally owned those kids :haha:

Shit. God really had a handle on things until we invented guns. Try sending two bears at us now, baldhead! :paranoid:

I love the Bible, it's an intensely interesting book if you have the patience to form your own interpretations of what you're reading. It's like looking into another world.
