Will jars dry out

If not knocked up within a certain amount of time? I prep'd 5 jars of WBS, 5 jars of rye, and 12 pf tek half pints. Anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks ago. Spores have yet to show up, but vendor assures me they'll be here this week. will the moisture content on these babies be ok? They all either have micro spore tape on them. Rye has foil on it as well.

Take the foil of right after pressure cooking. with the foil on it will be unable to pass gas :wink: You want it to pass gas

negative, when i dont plan on noccing my jars up right away, I leave the foil on until I inject with spores/cultures.

It's ok to use jars that have st for a while.
Of course, it's best to use fresh jars.
2-3 weeks is a long time, I'd start over if there is time before spores arrive.
Grain is cheap, but spores are not at first.

why did you prepare 22 jars if you dont even have spores???

Spores showed up. I checked jars, if I roll the grain and wbs I get a few pieces that stick to the side. And i just remembered that I made the half pints slightly more moist in anticipation of late delivery from the vendor. Knocked em up anyways. We'll see. Higgledy- I did them about a week early. Didn't expect it to be THREE weeks early.
