Shaman Cat?
    #14170871 - 03/23/11 03:34 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

I was about to go to school this morning and noticed my cat who was wanting me to pet him and he was rubbing up against things like any other cat does, but then I looked down again and I noticed he was gnawing on one of the leaves of my Brugmansia. I of course pissed myself, flipped out and rushed him out of the room and made sure he didn't have any in his mouth. After looking though, I noticed this wasn't his first time. There was another leaf which had little bits chewed off the tips.  Others have plan old bite marks. Seriously, I'm very confused and will post pics in a little bit of the damage.

Any one else know of animals intentionally consuming TROPANE ALKALOIDS????

EDIT: Maybe I should have posted this in the psychedelic experience. I dunno.

cats just eat things, like grass. i highly doubt it was attracted to the chemical consituents, but you never know

My cat ate parts of flowers and leaves off my Brugmansia sanguinea and was completely fine...
doesn't sound like yours has ingested that much material?

No it wasn't much, but it's the frequency with which he has done this that has piqued my interest. You figure one time would be enough to deter him. I guess not. Also, verification:
