Yeah I would definitely help out the poor--fuck charities, I'd just give them cash personally so I know it doesn't go to waste.

I would.  I'd like my kids to have some modesty and respect for others.  Of course in the grand scheme of things, I'm sure it doesn't really even matter.  But that's just my preference.

Hmm, well, then the grandkids would be left dealing with entering the real world without any type of preperation.

Well you could start a self-sustaining family business that'll continuously be making an assload of money for generations to come. :jew:

Not sure how sharing part of the earnings of the family business would condemn their "souls"...:undecided:

No, but setting them up as CEO after my retirement will.  It seems these days the only way to run a successful business is to sell your soul.  Maybe I'm wrong though.

Yeah I kinda disagree with that--they would have other people to actually run the business, so it's not like they would have to do anything. All they would do is sit back and watch the obscene amounts of cash flow right into their pockets. :money:

You might be right, but can we trust the other people to run the business?  When people profit from cutting corners, they cut corners.  How can I trust that they won't run the company into the ground?  How can I trust they won't start outsourcing child labor?  I'd have to know exactly what they were doing with the company all the time, so I would know they're being virtuous.  And if they are being virtuous, I doubt we'll be raking in that much money.  Not unless I get really lucky and invent the internet or something.

It just sounds far too stressful for me.

I don't want to be rich or poor.  I just want to live a quiet life of moderate modesty.

We can pay them to be trustworthy. :smirk:

Because their careers are on the line--make sure you hire well-qualified people.

Quote:

Their careers are on the line, I don't think it would be any more likely for them to do this than it would be for any other corporate executive to do it--and, if you catch them, since you're rich, you can get away with torturing them (if that's to your liking).

I guess I see what you mean--I think it's true that some businesses do not operate ethically, but I'm not sure if most of them do. I think your generalization is unfair to ethical businesspeople who've worked hard for the fortune they earned.
