Colonization On Track?

So this is my first time doing WBS quart jars. I usually do bags. So, question. I have two sets of jars, set 1 was inoculated 3 weeks ago, and set 2 was inoculated 2 weeks ago (with LC). The 3-week old is about 60-80%, and the 2-week old is about 25-35%.
It seems slow from what I've read, but I was wondering if it's still within normal limits. They're colonizing at 75 F, with 2x 1/8" GE holes, covered with Tyvek.

That does sound a Bit slow, especially for LCs.
How many CCs of the LC per jar? Did you shake @ 20-40% colonized? I'd make your GE holes larger next time. I recommend between 3/8" & 1/2" GE holes. Therefore if you had two, they should be 1/4" each...

2cc's LC / jar. I shook one set at more like 50% because I was out of state for a week.
No signs of contamination, at least...
Will 1/8" holes be enough to sustain the mycelium through colonization, even if it's slow?

I guess you'll find out but I can't say either way, as I've only used 3/8" & 1/2"
You can set the jars that are 80% on their sides. That should help a bit. Just make sure you don't have pooling water by the tyvek filters, as that will cause contams.
I'd shake the other jars today. Make sure when shaking that you get the colonized grain to hit EVERYWHERE in the jar, as the myc will make a new contact spot. Thus, making your jars colonize quicker/better.

Growth is still proceeding at a snail's pace.... Still no signs of contamination though. My sterile procedure is pretty good by now. So I can only assume the GE is so low that the mycelium isn't happy. Any tips for finishing off the last 10 - 30%?

If it's @ the bottom you can set them on their sides to help pull the WBS away from the glass...That's about it...

Already took your advice there... I guess I'll let time sort it out.

I'd prep some more WBS in the mean time, or get your mono ready...
GL Buddy...

OK, so I've been keeping all the grain spawn in large rubbermaid containers... Would that have inhibited GE due to the still air???
Everything's STILL growing, just very slowly... Up to 95%. SO close. I moved it out into a more open area... Maybe that will help. *sigh*

If you're just waiting for the bottoms to colonize...I get a lot of weird corners not wanting to colonize some times...you can put the jar on it's side, allowing gravity to pull the uncolonized grain away from the side of the jar. That normally gets my jars done that have that last 5% to go in 2-3 days.
Pics?
