i incoluated 3 jars: 2 half gallons and 1 quart jar with some left over Burma spores i had from a grow a year or so back. the quart jar didnt do anything at all, but the 2 half gallon jars have some nice mycelium growing in it.
its been 10 days since i shot them up. this is what they look like right now.

this is my first time with rye berries (successful time anyway) so idk if i should shake them up yet or not. and how much do i shake them up?

one week will probably serve you right.
That's a quart jar. I shook about 3 days after that pic
Also, when doing grains, I wouldn't recommend the 1/2 gallon jars. As, they tend to stall towards the bottom. I'd stick w/ quart jars.

this is a side grow to my other grow which consists of 50 quart jars lol. so im not too worried about these 2 jars lol.
i found the burma spores and figured id use a couple of my half gallon jars to see what happens since i had a bunch of left over rye berries prepared and no more quart sized jars lol
i also read in the "mushroom cultivator" by paul stamets that commercial growers use gallon jars

A lot of different growers, commercial or otherwise use gallon jars or bigger for spawn with no problems. Proper sterilization and spawning (G2G) at a high ratio is key to success with bigger jars.

That's what I was thinking. It'd be essential for quicker colonization to do a G2G of an iso to a gallon or 1/2 gallon jar. Def. not MS or LC...
