Overcooked birdseed?

I'm a first timer so this is all new to me.
I got WBS and tried to follow Doc's WBS Tek. I did't think I VIGOROUSLY boiled it but while I was PCing the first round of jars I noticed that the rest of the WBS was sticky and glutonous, so I think I must have overcooked it. I'm going to throw out the stuff that hasn't been PCed yet but I'm wonderring if it's a waste to inoculate the jars that are already sterilized. When I shake them the seed inside doesn't easily break apart, it mostly stays in one cylender shaped mass. Will gummy grain not grow anything or just grow slower?

It probably would work, but starting fresh is cheap and inspires confidence.
Wire mesh strainer is crucial for WBS. Prep it like RR does in his rye prep video: http://mushroomvideos.com/ That will give you the best results. And the most consistent results too.
For fun, keep one of the sticky jars just to see.

In my experience, overhydrated grains don't colonize fast enough. The few bacterial endospores that survived the pressure cooking will germinate and colonize the grain before the mycelium can.
All you have to lose by trying it is time and spore solution though.

Thanks for the quick responses guys.
You are right Sillicybin, spores and time are all that's at stake and I have plenty of spores (I inheritted a buddy's kit after he moved away) so that's not an issue, unless I go fifteen rounds without being able to get a usable print . So far as time goes, I'm doing another batch tomorrow so the time for one extra jar in a batch is going to be pretty minimal I think.
I'll keep the jar that I had the least seed in so it has the most room to shake around. Just started soaking for round 2 tomorrow night.
Thanks for the advice, people like you make this place the awesome community that it seems to be.

Everybody has a preference for soak times. For WBS, I prefer to soak about four hours, then simmer about 10 mins or until al dente.
