ahhh i see, i was just thinking you would have had a much healthier haul if you just left those for another day or two, let them grow, i mean if it is your own spot you made, shouldn't be that hard to leave it a day or two & come back?

I only say it cause i had a bet with a mate the other week that the ones that aren't opened properly barely have any effects, so he ate probably 7-8 of them and  sure enough, he didn't have any effects whatsoever. :tongue2:

Nice work on creating a perso patch though, I just went out and fertilized my other 3 patches

It's a massive shame there are people out there ruining it for everyone else! It's pretty much vandalism!

As a beginner I am definitely going to keep to the mushroom hunting etiquette!

How do you set up your own spot? Pick a few mushrooms and semi bury them in an area you want them to keep growing in?

I'm getting up nice and early tomorrow for my first big day out foraging.

Wish me luck! :P

I don't know anyone that knows what they are doing unfortunately. I won't consume any until I have had them ID'd on here! I've also got a couple of books on mushroom identification that I can refer to as well.

Went for a hunt today with Umma, took a nice little haul of about 15 juicy beauties. Would've seen a good 2 dozen or so pins as well . Lots of spots are just waking up me thinks .

Here're some pics.

Lactarious Deliciousis (sp??) I believe:

I think I've asked this before, but here goes again: Anyone with experience with picking / eating / keeping these? Any nice recipies or techniques you guys can offer me? What sorts of features would one be looking for in the mushrooms if one were picking these?

Peace guys :rasta:

Pine Creature, those pins in the first pic are flwaless.. and close. Rarely does my mug witness such immense pinning. If your gnome pulls them out like that im doubtful they would continue to grow. Did your sky unicorn try putting them back in the ground? Also did the aquatic pterodactyl propagate the patch with spores or mycelium? How long did he wait before fruiting?

To tell the truth I'm well over it all, i was out a couple of days ago and found 4 kids raping patches literally pulling clusters out of the dirt, ripping up mycelium beds, and just making a big fucking mess of the area, and then to top it off i found another spot later on even more damaged, when i approached them i was told to fuck off, lol and i proceeded to explain to them how i will bury them and that will be that. Lord of the gnomes these were the spots we looked at last week too. So even worse it's not just my spots it's other members on here.

So I think this will be my last post, I'm having a problem of wanker friends coming on here to try find out where my spots are and it's shitting me no end, if someone could help me maybe make it so you need to be a member to view my posts that would be awesome. I'm just not vibing the community anymore.

this enrages me imensely smokeandtoke, i actualy went there yesterday and yes i did find one spot absolutley RAPED ya know that one by the fence that people had killed by jumping it?? however i did also get quite a few finds from there probably just over half. did you happen to reconise them as hills boys at all? i hear about alot of locals going near there. haha your not the only one with decent hauls, mine have been ok aswell lol certainly not of your size tho hahaha if ya still ever down for a hunt stil let us know aye i wont kill ya spots bro:grin: oh and i can also reconise the scenery in those first two pics lol we walked past there when we went hunting yes? i also get shrooms from there as you know and a couple patches along there have also been dug up by the same backhoe, altho i think i remember dicussing this with you then lol cant remember

Random stuff...

pins are extremely active, more potent than mature mushrooms, strange your friend didn't trip much after eating.

Those are definately safron milky caps! (pleasant aroma, concentric rings on the cap, white spores, you can 'milk' an orange liquid from it)
Fry with in a bit of butter just till they're slightly brown and hot then serve them with finely chopped parsley. Yum!!

Otherwise you can dry and grind them then add them to sauces or soups. Definately a tasty mushroom.

yes, pins are indeed more potent than matured caps but only because pins contain more psilocybin by the gram than matured caps, so in theory they are more potent only ya just have to eat alot more pins that way

Spent the daylight hours today looking for some new patches, but without any luck, and as the sun went down, went to visit my usual spots and managed a nice sized haul. Night shrooming by torchlight is becoming quite a fun activity.  Its a shame to hear about peoples patches being Raped. where has all the love gone. Peace and happy shrooming.

Lactarious deliciosus are saffron milky caps!

They're in the group of 'milky caps' because when you cut into them they secrete a milky sorta substance. Saffron milky caps are called that because the 'milk' is a saffron colour.

I'd recommend taking a few home just as a treat, there are usually that many of them around it's not toooo hard to find one that's just broken their veil(which is primetime edibility).
