Lordofthegnomes@ That's fucking crazy man, seriously be careful with that shit, are you 100 percent sure you weren't tagged by the fangs, they barely have to scratch you to deliver the venom. If you start feeling weird or funny definitely get it checked.
Bad luck about your patches buddy too, haven't been to that spot we both know since i first went, almost dreading going back and seeing the damage lol
Went for one of the best hunts i've been on before the other day with ummagumma and trixxy, some absoloutely stunning spots i've never been to before, walking around the area was so refreshing, I thoroughly enjoyed it BIG thanks to you guys for inviting me
Photographed some of the most wicked looking P. Subaeruginosa i've seen before, some of them almost looked albino.

Then from almost white they started going a funky orange color

Been looking for this "coral" fungi for weeks and weeks, and i finally stumbled across it yeehaw

A few more subs found in various areas.

On the walk home i stumbled across this bad boy, looks like a tasty sub doesn't it! well it's not...trust me. Would love to know what it was but the photo barely does the color justice it was a bright bright blue, almost fluorescent in color.

I was bloody stoked to stumble across this little guy, as a close contender to my mycology interest, reptiles are numero uno. Had to stop and give the little fella a scratch whilst enjoying the views on a walk recently.

@ Smoke and Toke
The blue capped mushroom is an adequate candidate for Cortinarius rotundisporus or some kind of Russula.

Ok yippe!
First off let's go some sub pictures.

Panaeolus sp. ??? I didn't check to see if it was fruiting directly from dung, but it was on the outskirts of a forest in grass

Oyster ???

Macrolepiota clelandii ???

I have no idea what this is, I regret not touching it.

Gallerina marginata ??? It didn't quite look like a gallerina but it's possible that's because it was fairly dry.

Russula persanguinea ???

Mycena sp with Amanita muscaria

Mostly out of focus shelf fungi

Cool finds
The pan = Panaeolus papilionaceus oyster = Crepidotus sp. (something like C. fimbriatus) parasol = probably Macrolepiota clelandii no idea = Reticularia lycoperdon Galerina = Gymnopilus sp.

Went on a hunt yesterday. It was strange, it the spots that I usually dont find many, I found a fair few, and in the spots that i usually find heaps, I found none.
Due to the early season starting maybe?

Macrolepiota clelandii are delicious, I find that Chlorophyllum brunneum to be a bit better though they are stonger tasting and seem to be a lot more sturdy so they hold up a bit better when cooking them.
Lots of ways to cook them I usually just fry them with salt, pepper and butter though.

My favorite spot seems to be putting out regular fruit, found a few decomposed ones that i must have missed last time i was there. didnt take many pictures this time, but would love to know what the inactives in my third pic are. slowly trying to learn the names of all the species i come accross.
Nice to see some interest in the Panaeolus. thought i spotted some last season, hoping they appear again this year in the same spot so i can get a propper ID.
Happy shrooming.

The inactives are Hypholoma fasciculare... or H. capnoides if there was no green tinge to the gills.

Hi Guys, Went for a hunt to a few new spots sunday - didn't find any gold 'n' blue in any of them, but sussed out some nice habitat. All seemed just a wee bit dry though. Some shots I took that day:

And some more pics:Anyone know the species of the 1st and 3rd shots?
I'm pretty sure that's not fungus in the 2nd shot - I reckon they're some sort of woolly kangaroo
I'm looking forward to some good decent rain to wet up the place for a few days.
Good luck on your adventures guys.

definitely gotta try that I often find solitary ones around the place when sub hunting in pine forests.
