If all you are using it for is arm protector sleeves for your GB I think it should be fine.
One option is to tape some heavy rubber gloves into the holes of your GB and make sure it is sealed up nicely. Go over the tape with silicone(I use heavy duty automotive tape). Once dried from the inside cut the fingers/thumb off so you have a rubber sleeve leading into your GB.
Put your gloves on, rub with iso alc. and get to work!
Here is a picture for clarification. This is before I cut the fingers and thumb off to create a rubber sleeve.

another option is getting a peice of PVC pipe that fits into the arm holes good and snug, silicon around them, then clamp on a rubber intertube so when you put gloves on, and stretch your hands thru the tube it fits snug on your wrists..

I couldn't find a tyvek suit either (stupid Home Depot), so I got the PP version. The jury is still out, but I think it will work fine.
I was planning to use the rest of the suit as filter material. Anyone know if that will work? It seems to allow some air through.

go to the post office and get the weird feeling express mail envelopes. they are free. they are tyvek.
they have sort of a pearly/waxy finish to them so you know which ones the right kind.

Go to a REAL paint store. sw, porter, benny moore. Those are stocked items and you get a whole suit of tyvek for $6. Or look at an automotive supply place that does paints as well.

fyi-using government property (tyvek envelopes from the usps) for this purpose is illegal, and the mods don't appreciate having it endorsed on this site.

I used polypropylene for gas exchange on 2 experimental 1/2 pint plastic zip loc cups. the cakes came out fine. I doubled it. Could have been a fluke.

Envelope tyvek isn't good for anything anyway, get polyfil.
(RP is about sleeves not envelopes btw)

I'd just like to put some closure to this thread as it seems I was about to post up a new thread sharing what I'd found out about it, and decided to put this info here instead
I just bought a PP painter suit and looked at a piece under the microscope and just want to let it be known that polypropylene is a TERRIBLE filter for GE. Like, worse than coffee filters kinda terrible.
I'm still using the sleeves for the still air box and maybe gonna see how the rest of the suit will work just to wear while doing sterile work. I figure I could wrap it in foil and sterilize it in the PC before doing my work and put it on over clean clothes after showering just to put an extra sterile layer between me and my work.
But ya, back on topic. Sorry to resurrect a dead thread but I figured it was relevant as the question about PP as a GE filter was still open and I happened to have an answer lol. So ya, no question about it. PP as a GE filter is a terrible idea and if you had any success with it, you're either lucky or really really freakin clean.

using water for this purpose is illegal I think the last thing the DEA gives a shit about when kicking your door down is where you get your tyvek from
