 starting a grow but never tripped

So,
Im starting a grow (b+, penis envy and ecuador) and i'm hoping it will all come out well, but heres the thing. I have only ever smoked pot.. in my life. Never taken any sort of psychedelics or pills or anything. I know I'm going to eventually have to try the product, but I just don't know what I'm in for. I live out in the middle of the woods, so I was thinking I would make some sort of mushroom pizza or something and go romp around with my dogs..
Will things change colors? cause that would be awesome if my dog turned purple or something.
Also, should I bring a sober person with me?

It effects everyone differently, and you should probably read others' trip experiences on this site to get a feeling for what it's like. I've never had incredibly strong shrooms, but I usually take around an eighth oz. dry (gently crushed, not ground up/chewed like I should for a stronger trip) and I get some closed-eye visuals, patterns in wood/walls start moving, things get funnier, I think about things more (as an example, last time I tripped I was watching Robocop with some friends, and it was so hilarious to me that actors actually played the roles in that movie...)
Anyway, I'd recommend reading others' trip reports. Start with a moderate dose and, if possible, have somebody you trust with you, at least for the first time.

check out erowid. they have a long list of trip reports and scientific research.. Now worries, your going to want to start out with just a few grams and get a feel for it. But yes, things do kinda change colors, not drastically in my experience, but they do, and you will notice a lot of stuff bending, or moving around.. Have to try to really understand.. One of the biggest things about them is the head trip, you will be thinking of the most random things ever..

I triped by myself for the first time, Just have some crunchy tunes if you're hanging out at the house by urself, or make sure you have a cellphone hidden on you with GPS if you're out in the woods. Might get lost :-P

i dont do my own mush...
i used to love them but i've seemed to developed a rather bad taste for them.. i just give them away..
my body has been telling me for over a year it isnt ready to trip yet and i listen to it..
will things change color? probably not. colors will get much more defined and sharp and viberant.
should you take a sober person with you? i wouldnt say sober, but if you dose with someone, make sure they know how to handle themselves on psych's.. i've had good friends get flaky on me in the heat of the trip.
in the end, its all up to you.
you can go tromping through the woods with your dog if you want to.. might be good times..
just be sure to try to remember that you are messed up and interaction with the "straighter laced" people might prove difficult and best left alone.

a buddy of mine was telling me about a trip of his and he said that his friend grew horns and turned into the devil and the walls started melting. crazy shit. he also cried every time "let it be" came on (the album was on repeat)
but he also said it was one the best nights of his life

ya i did a 7G trip, from my very first grow and holy cow i sat in a corner crying begging it to stop and to be over with
never again lol
now soon as my APE are done, i'm scared to try my normal dose of 3.5G's lol

If you've never tripped before, you don't know what to expect, so you should send me some to test for you and I'll tell you how they are and what to expect.
Seriously though... everyone's trips are different. I would recommend that you find someone who was tripped before to trip with you. If you can't find someone who's tripped before, bring a babysitter.
You should start out light your first time, maybe 1-1.5 grams.
Go somewhere safe, where you're comfortable.
Make sure you plan on 6-8 hours of entertainment, so you don't have to make the choice of being bored or leaving your safe zone.
Get food. Snacks are best... there's a good chance you won't be competent enough to cook.
The two dogs I had in college both knew when I was tripping. One just avoided me, and the other one was just mean.
Enjoy your first trip... however, since you have a little while before they're ready to eat, you should start a grow log.

best rule to remember is
start off small, 1-2 g if after a hour you dont feel like you want to you can always take more, you cant not take more once youve taken them lol

My one piece of wisdom is:
Do not forget that shrooms make you gay.
On a more serious note do not underestimate the cubensis. As a few
people have already mentioned start off with a lower dose and gauge
how that effects you.
The most important variable when eating psilocybin containing mushrooms
is set and setting. Make sure you are in a good mood, free from stress
and life troubles before tripping. Make sure you are in a comfortable
place with lots of entertainment (Toys, glow sticks, markers, paper)
and just let the trip take you were it wants to.
