My girlfriend just picked this up.
I won't hear a peep out of her for a week.
She eats this shit up, and loves all of these Sims games.
I don't get it.
She's happy though, so whatevs!

I have never understood the sims games. All you do is keep up your characters happy bars and send them to work.
You can do that in real life. I always thought the point of video games was to do things you can't in real life.

You can't have a family member negotiate with the Grim Reaper after the victim has died in real life. Nice try though.

It just came out yesterday. We had to go grab it as soon as she got off work.

She was playing when I went to sleep. Now she's complaining all morning while we get ready about how tired she is and how it sucks and how I should've told her to go to sleep.

Well in real life if you take the ladder out of the pool a normal person will not drown. I think that is all I ever did in the game, kill em off and make em miserable. I don't do that in real life
I almost started to download an older sims game for the hell of it, probably just to torture people and be a bad god.

The Sims have evolved, they learned how to climb out of the pool via the side even if there is no ladders present. Imagine that.

My wife loves this game too and got me on it. I don't like to admit it but there is something about the game that I really, really like.
I rarely sit down to play it myself, but if my wife sits down for a weekend of Siming it up and I hear the music over and over, or if I watch her play a lot then I'll jump on another computer to play.
Thinking about getting medieval and installing it as a surprise... it's kind of expensive though.

That's what torrents are for. That way you can try before you buy. And if you should decide that it is not worth your money, well, that's up to you.

What is the medeival version like? Is it the same as normal but olden days?
I loved the sims. You may only keep them happy and send them to work, but there is so much more. Designing a house is so fun. Its like an art!! I love starting out like a bum in a shack and working up to a mansion!

I'm finding it holds my attention a lot more than other Sims since it's based more on quests and multiple characters (but you don't have to controll all characters at once).
