If you are in America, you should regularly watch CSPAN because they are the only unbiased source that reports anything the least bit interesting.

All they do is show unadulturated stuff. They show press conferences of US and foriegn officials, without commentary. They show the BBC at times, the CBC at other times, they used to show Al-Jazeera, but we blew them up.

So it's really good for two things. 1. It shows alternate news coverage from international sources. 2. It shows raw footage of press conferences, meetings, and other important meetings.

So check it out.

I watch it all the time. I love watch committee meetings. While certainly there is corruption in the gov., it is easy to see that there are a lot of serious people who put a lot of thought into the jobs that they do. Unless of course you believe that these too are just set up for propaganda.

Just watched a great program on CSPAN2

A class on the Clinton Doctrine and National Security given by Margaret Scranto who is a political scient professor. Did anyone else catch it? One point she made was that considtency is not the halmark of forein policy. It never has been for most any nation.

Al Jazeera is still broadcasting. The english Al-jazeera site is back up too. You need to install the multilanguage support in IE5 to see it though. I spent an hour today trying and failing to get the arabic language support installed. Yikes!
