Ever go straight from liquid culture to fruiting substrate?

It seems like all the costly grain transfer steps could be eliminated since liquid penetrates so well. Has anyone tried this?

monstermitch stated that he was injecting sterilized substrates with LC and colonizing...suppose to be writing up a tek here soon.

I've often wondered this myself. I don't see why it wouldn't work, even with just pasteurized bulk subs rather than sterilized.

Trade List! Don't use incubators. An incubator is for contamination as brothels are for STDs. Sure you get sex, but is it worth it?

Won't work. 1) the grain is a nutrition resource 2) spawning involves vastly more mycelium than lc Best you could do for that is big pf blocks, like spongiform did.
-------------------- You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?

Look at Blue Helix's grows. He rolls straight to bulk with LC. Also Wronguy Bags are inoculated straight with LC.

Ive found it takes a bit longer to colonize than grain to bulk but its always worked fine for me

Shouldn't take long at all if you use one of those 140cc monojects...

interesting approach, sure would save on expenses, gas, grain, etc..
I imagine you need a pristine LC (stir plated) to get it going quick enough.

Ive done this with maybe fifty mycobags and ive found it just a bit slower to start colonizing than rye berrie but once it gets a taste for the manure it just rips through it I thought it was pretty slick.I always test all my LC's on agar first just to make sure
